Sept. 3

Treasury reference to Auditor Done of the petition of Charles Fox, esq., praying the allowance of 1,557l.4s. 3d. for interest for the sum of 11,265l.9s. 9½d. with which at the time of his dismission from his office he cleared [the pay of] all the Forces to 1685–6, Jan. 1; which sum was not repaid till 1687–8, Feb. 15: further praying 392l. 8s. 9d. for poundage fees on 40,000l. which he paid [in Army payments] without [deducting] any poundage thereon: further praying 750l. for executing the office of Treasurer of Chelsea Hospital for four years, which he did without any recompense: this last sum to be to enable him to recompense his clerks and to bear the charges of passing his accounts. Sept. 27. Treasury warrant to Richard Kent, the Customs Cashier, to satisfy to himself the two tallies in his hands, dated 1680, Oct. 4, for respectively 5,000l. and 25,000l., or 30,000l. in all, being the remainder of the tallies which said Kent and Charles Duncombe received [at the Exchequer] for moneys advanced to Charles II on the credit of the Customs.
