Mr. Nicoll, Receiver and Paymaster of tin, is called in. His memorial is read complaining that Mr. Richard Balhatchet, agent for tin in Co. Devon, will not give him any account of what tin hath been sold by him since his coming into his office.
My Lords order Mr. Nicoll to go down forthwith and to take what care he can to secure the money already paid for tin sold and to give notice that no more be paid to Mr. Balhatchet.

[Write the] Customs Commissioners and the East India Company to be here on Monday next in the afternoon.
[My Lords direct] 1,000l. out of the late Queen's [Civil List revenue] arrears [to be paid] to the Commissioners of the Stables [the Commissioners for executing the Office of Master of the Horse] upon their unsatisfied order.
Ordered that the Navy Commissioners do make out [Navy] bills for impresting to Sir Richard Mostyn, Paymaster of the arrears due upon account of the late Marine Regiments, the sum of 21,135l. 16s. 6½d. and to assign the same for payment out of the stock in the [Navy] Treasurer's hands for 5 per cent. annuities: and is intended to be applied towards discharging offreckonings due for clothing the said Regiments.
Order the Paymaster [Treasurer] of the Navy to assign the said sum in stock accordingly and [i.e. together with] the quarter's interest or dividend due at Xmas last for the same. [This minute is struck through, but the word stet is written in the margin.]
Direct Sir Roger Mostyn to apply the said stock amounting to 21,135l. 16s. 6½d. to the said offreckoning by applying the same and all interest or dividend money due or to be due from Xmas 1715 for the same to those entituled to the said offreckonings: it being thought reasonable that in regard of the present discount upon the said stock the said interest or dividend money do attend the stock without being reckoned towards discharging any part of the debts on the said offreckonings.
The said Sir Roger Mostyn having in his hands (as per his paper now read) 5,520l. 7s. 1¼d. in South Sea Stock besides the money by him received for dividends thereupon, my Lords are pleased to order that the said Paymaster do forthwith transfer to Mr. Rogers, a Master in Chancery, so much of the said Stock as amounts to 4,952l. 12s. 9d. [which sum is] to attend the decree or order of the Court of Chancery concerning an assignment dated 28 Nov. 1709 made by General Wills “or his order” of the offreckonings of his Regiment to Mr. Robert Peter [which assignment] is since transferred to Mr. Charles Le Bas; and that so much of the said dividend money as arose upon the said sum of 4,952l. 12s. 9d. be also paid over by the said Sir Roger Mostyn to the said Master in Chancery to attend the decree or order of the said Court: and that the remainder of the said sum of 5,520l. 7s. 1¼d. and so much of the dividend money as hath arisen or shall arise on the said remainder be reserved for my Lords' further directions. Mr. Missing, the Contractor for [Victualling the Garrison of] Gibraltar, is called in and the report of the Comptrollers of [the Accounts of] the Army is read concerning the money due to him according to his contract on account of victualling the said Garrison. My Lords do thereupon order that warrants be prepared for paying the several sums stated to be due to him by the said report amounting in all to 5,523l. 3s. 1¼d.; and that thereupon he be directed to answer Mr. Conduite's bills drawn on their [the Treasury] Lordships for 2,650 dollars with which he [Conduit] credited Mr. Sherrer (Mr. Missing's agent at Gibraltar) to buy bread.
Ordered also that a letter be writ (pursuant to the [Army Accounts] Comptrollers' report) to the Governor of Gibraltar to value the King's provisions remaining in store and [which were] delivered over to Mr. Missing at the time his contract commenced.
The Treasury of the Navy [is] called [in and] his memorial is read [for money for the Navy] and 63,888l. 7s. 4d. is ordered out of Land Tax tallies 1716 to satisfy the articles in his [said] memorial of [this day] the 21st March 1715–16: and my Lords order the [said] Treasurer, [he] being present, that the defalcations upon ships' books for Greenwich Hospital be regularly paid over every week by the Treasurer of the Navy for the service of the said Hospital and [be] not applied to any other use. Write to Mr. Wilcox [the late Surveyor General of Woods, Trent South] to make forth and transmit to their Lordships an account of the quantity and value of all the timber and trees by him delivered for the service of the Navy during the time of his being Surveyor of the Woods; distinguishing the same by the years and places from whence the timber &c. was delivered: and likewise to acquaint my Lords whether the values were not ascertained and agreed between him and the Naval Officers and inserted in the indentures between them.
