Prefixing: report by J. Brydges on their cases. Butler has been superseded by a premier Officer of Lieut. Gen. Gorge's Regiment wherein he bore a commission en second "and other considerations": Mahony quitted the Duke of Anjou's service for that of King Charles III and lost his equipage on that occasion: the Marquis de Malaspina served as Captain in a Spanish Regiment in catalonia in the service of his Catholic Majesty. The first two are intended to be provided for in Sir Daniel Carrol's [O'Carroll's] Regiment of Horse in Portugal, and the money to them may be paid out of the savings of that Regiment; that to the Marquis may be directed out of the sum granted for his Catholic Majesty for the service of this present year 1711. Treasury warrant dormant to the Auditor of Crown Revenues for Co. Yorks. to make forth debentures on the Receiver of said revenues for said county for paying to the prebends of Wilton and Salton the pensions of 40s. per an. each, due to the said prebends and to which the subchanter and vicars choral of the Cathedral Church of St. Peter in the city of York are entitled: which pensions have been constantly paid by said Receiver but are now in arrears for about four years under pretence that the lands out of which those pensions issued were granted from the Crown: whereupon the said subchanter and vicars choral petitioned the Treasury and their petition was by Treasurer Godolphin referred 1702–3 Jan. 29 to Henry Shales, then Auditor of said revenues, who reported thereupon that there were in his books no such pensions of 40s. each payable by same to the prebends of Wilton and Salton, but that in the Pension Deed he found two pensions of 40s. each, the one payable to the vicar of the metropolitan church in York, the other to the rector of St. Saviour's in the Marshes there, which might probably be the same pensions meant in the said petition and [he was disposed to think so] the rather because the same were behind and unpaid for the above-said period.
