Aug. 6 [? 17.] The Commissioners of Trade to the Board of Ordnance enclosing an estimate of Ordnance and other stores of war necessary to be sent immediately to the Leeward Islands; the Queen having ordered a sum of 2000l. to be employed towards making good the demands of the Governor of said Islands for stores of war and having referred to us, the Board of Trade, how that sum may be most usefully employed, see supra p. 308.
Please take care that the arms as follows be accordingly sent to Col. Codrington, Governor in Chief of the said Islands, the Lord Treasurer having taken care that the value thereof be made good to the Office of Ordnance.

Same to the Customs Commissioners of the petition of Peter Lynch merchant shewing that he is indebted 1996l. 15s. 1½d. for Customs and is detained a prisoner in the Canaries (where he went to bring his defrauding factor to account) by the factor's insinuating with the Governor that he came as a spy. Same to the Postmasters General of the petition of William Dockwra of London merchant, shewing that he first undertook to set up at his own expense the Penny Post Office and after much charge brought it to such regular practice that it has ever since brought in a great revenue to the Crown: therefore praying a grant, the pension granted him in the late reign having expired at midsummer 1700.
