1422. 12 Kal. Dec. S. Maria Maggiore, Rome. (f. 13.)	To the abbot of St. Mary's, Newry (de Viridiligno), in the diocese of Dromore. Mandate to make provision to Peter Maguryn, priest, of the diocese of Dromore (who lately received papal dispensation, as the son of a priest and an unmarried woman, to be promoted to all holy orders and hold a benefice even with cure) of a canonry of Dromore, and to collate and assign to him the parish church of Cluandallan in the said diocese, value not exceeding 8 marks, wont to be governed by a canon of Dromore (in which church, although there is a fixed number of canons, there is no distinction of prebends), void by the resignation of Patrick Okeallaych, made to John, archbishop of Armagh, when visiting by his metropolitical authority the diocese of Dromore. Mandate to collate and assign to John Macfiaych, priest, of the diocese of Dromore, the perpetual vicarage of St. Patrick's, Druim, in the said diocese, value not exceeding 2 marks, void by the resignation of Comedinus Meguryn to John, archbishop of Armagh, the metropolitan, which resignation, if he find it lawful, he is to admit by papal authority. To David de Hamylton, rector of Cumnok in the diocese of Glasgow, M.A. Reservation for collation to him, who is of noble birth and a bachelor of canon law, of the hospital of Rothfen in the diocese of Aberdeen, without cure, value not exceeding 40l. of old sterlings, wont to be assigned to secular clerks as a perpetual benefice, to become void by the promotion, made by the pope and by the approaching consecration, of Columba, elect of Moray; notwithstanding that he holds the parish church of Cumnok in the diocese of Glasgow, and a certain perpetual chaplaincy of St. Thomas the Martyr without the walls of G[l]asgow, without cure and of the patronage of laymen, value together not exceeding 40l. of like sterlings, and is litigating in the papal palace about the deanery of Glasgow, a major elective dignity with cure, of which he has not got possession, whose value, together with that of the annexed canonry and prebend, does not exceed 100l. of like sterlings. Collation and provision to him (who is a clerk, and who recently received papal dispensation, as the son of an unmarried man and an unmarried woman, without mention of which he had had himself made a clerk, to act as a clerk, be promoted to all, even holy orders and hold a benefice even with cure) of the perpetual benefice called the rectory of Inisdasliog alias of the parcels (de particulis) of Cathirbressleayn, Kylldatom and Kyllimleac (also written Kyllymleac) in the diocese of Ardfert, without cure and value not exceeding 3 marks, void and reserved to the apostolic see by the death there of John Ossullebayn, clerk. 3 Kal. Sept. Vicovaro. (f. 133d.)	To David de Hamylton, canon of Brechin, M.A. Collation and provision to him, who is also bachelor of canon law, and is of a race of great nobles, and has studied theology for six years at Paris, of a canonry and the prebend called the vicarage of the church of Brechin, value not exceeding 24 marks sterling, which have become void and reserved to the present pope (under Boniface VIII's general reservation of benefices void by the death of members of the papal court when following the said court, however distant therefrom might be the place of their death) by the recent death of Patrick de Spalding, who, being a referendary of the pope and a member of the papal court, died at Rome after the pope had transferred the said court to Tivoli; notwithstanding that he holds the parish church of Comnok in the diocese of Glasgow, the chapel, without cure, of the patronage of laymen, of St. Thomas the Martyr without the walls of Glasgow, value together not exceeding 60 marks sterling, and has gained in the papal palace a definitive sentence in his suit about the deanery of Glasgow, a major elective dignity with cure, value not exceeding 100 marks sterling, and that the pope has lately [f. 21d] granted him provision of the hospital without cure of Rothfen in the diocese of Aberdeen, value also not exceeding 60 marks, of which, as likewise of the said deanery, he has not got possession. Mandate to collate and assign to John Lawles, clerk, of the diocese of Meath, B.C.L., the archdeaconry of Glendalough (Glyndalacha) in Dublin, a non-major non-elective dignity with cure, value not exceeding 60 marks, void by the death of James Symon. 2 Non. March. St. Peter's, Rome. (f. 257d.)	To the abbot of St. Mary's, Clogher. Mandate to collate and assign to Philip Omolwoyr, clerk, of the diocese of Clogher, official of the episcopal court of Clogher (who lately received papal dispensation, as the son of a priest, O.S.A., and an unmarried woman, to be promoted etc. as above, f. 35d), the deanery of Clogher, a major elective dignity without cure, value not exceeding 12 marks, void and reserved (under the pope's late reservation of all major cathedral dignities in Ireland, void and to be void) by the death of Donald Maccener. To Nicholas Tunnok, M.A. Collation and provision to him, who has taken his M.A. at Paris, of the deanery of Aberdeen, a major elective dignity with cure, value not exceeding 100 marks of old sterlings, to which a canonry and prebend are annexed, void and reserved, as above, f. 133d, by the recent death of Patrick de Spalding; notwithstanding that he holds the [parish] church of Furby in the diocese of Aberdeen, value not exceeding 16 marks sterling, and a canonry and prebend of Ross, that he is litigating in the papal palace about the archdeaconry of Caithness, a non-major dignity, and that the pope lately granted him provision of canonries with expectation of prebends of Dunkeld and Moray. He is hereby dispensed to hold for three years the said deanery together with the said parish church, within which period he is to exchange, as usual, or thereafter resign the said church. He is also, on obtaining the deanery, to resign, as he has offered, the said canonry and prebend and the said archdeaconry, if he win it. Litterarum etc.
