Mandate to collate and assign to Laurence Olongseyg, priest, of the diocese of Cork—who lately had papal dispensation, as the son of a priest and an unmarried woman, to be promoted to all, even holy orders, and hold a benefice even with cure, and has been so promoted—the perpetual vicarage, value not exceeding 8 marks, of Cluechyg in the same diocese, so long void by the death of David Olongayg, that by the Lateran statutes it has lapsed to the apostolic see. Id. Oct. St. Peter's, Rome. (f. 27.)	To the bishop of Concordia, the prior of Monaincha (Insula virencium) in the diocese of Killaloe, and John Ohcachre, canon of Killaloe. Mandate to remove Gillabride Olaribraba, priest, and any other, and to collate and assign to Eugene Macose, priest, of the diocese of Killaloe, the parish church, called rectory, value not exceeding 7 marks, of Kyiweluanafferta moluad, in that diocese, void by reason that the late Donald Odubgyni held it for a year and more without having himself ordained priest and without dispensation. Mandate to remove Donald Ograde and any other, and to collate and assign to John Ocybayn, priest, of the diocese of Kilmacduagh, the perpetual vicarage, value not exceeding 6 marks, of Cluany, in the diocese of Killaloe, so long void because Henry Ograde held it for a year and more without having himself ordained priest, that etc., as above, f. 21. Mandate to collate and assign to Findbardus Omailunnayn, priest, of the diocese of Elphin, the perpetual vicarage, value not exceeding 2 marks, of St. Bernanus de Manso, in that diocese, void by the death of Dermit Ohainlyd; notwithstanding that he holds the perpetual vicarage, value not exceeding 4 marks, of Kylglas, in the same diocese, together with which he is hereby dispensed to hold St. Bernanus's. 1400. 3 Kal. Dec. St. Peter's, Rome. (f. 74.)	To the bishop of Ardagh and the abbots of Kilbeggan (de Flumine Dei) and Benedictio Dei in the diocese of Meath. Mandate to collate and assign to Donald Magluay, priest, of the said diocese, the rectory of Castel Richard in that diocese, of the patronage of laymen, value not exceeding 20 marks, shortly to become void under the pope's recent mandate to the above three to deprive and remove John Tathe, who does not well understand and intelligibly speak the language (ydcoma) of the majority of the parishioners; notwithstanding that the pope has recently ordered provision to be made to him of the parish church, value not exceeding 80 marks, of Rathwere, in the same diocese [below, f. 83d], possession of which he has not yet got, and of one, two, three, four or more benefices with or without cure, in the common or several gift of the bishop of Meath, the abbot and convent of St. Thomas the Martyr's without the walls, Dublin, and the priors and convents of Duleyk and Colpe, in the diocese of Meath. Donald is hereby dispensed to hold Castel Ricard for life together with Rathwere, and to resign both simply or for exchange and hold instead for life two similar or dissimilar incompatible benefices, even if parish churches or elective dignities, etc. Vite etc. (De mandato.) Mandate to remove Magonius Offlani and any other, and to collate and assign to John Onniyl, clerk, of the diocese of Ardagh—who is in his fifteenth year, and has had papal dispensation, as the son of a priest religious and an unmarried woman, to be promoted to all, even holy orders, and hold a benefice even with cure—if found fit in Latin, the vicarage, value not exceeding 8 marks, of Lecmankan, in the diocese of Clonmacnoise, void by the death of Cristinus Obuachala. Mandate to remove Thady Okellay and any other, and to collate and assign to John Braynok, priest, of the diocese of Tuam, the rectory of Athnerey in that diocese, value not exceeding 30 marks, so long void because the said Thady held it for a year and more without having himself ordained priest that etc. as above, f. 21. Vite etc.
6 Kal. Dec. St. Peter's, Rome. (f. 83d.)	To the bishop of Clonmacnoise and the abbots of Kilbeggan (de Flumine Dei) and Benedictio Dei in the diocese of Meath. Mandate to collate and assign to Donald Magluay, priest, of the said diocese, the rectory of Rathwere in that diocese, of the patronage of laymen, value not exceeding 80 marks, shortly to become void under the pope's recent mandate to the above three to deprive and remove William Wylde, for the same reason as above, f. 74; notwithstanding that the pope has recently ordered provision to be made to him of [the parish church of Castel Ricard, as above, f. 74, and of] one, two, three, four or more benefices with or without cure in the common or several gift of the bishop of Meath, the abbot and convent of St. Thomas the Martyr's by Dublin (corrected in margin from extra muros Dublinic), and the Augustinian priors and convents of (de) Lantoney Primi in Wales and Lantoney Secundi by Gloucester (similarly corrected from de Duleyk et de Colpe). 1401. 10 Kal. Feb. St. Peter's, Rome. (f. 86d.)	To the archbishop of Armagh and the archdeacons of Kilmore and Ardagh. Mandate to remove the Benedictine prior and convent of St. Feighin's (S. Fechini), Fowr, in the diocese of Meath, who have detained it from time immemorial, and any others, and to collate and assign to Nicholas Macbradyg, clerk, of the diocese of Kilmore—who has had dispensation from the ordinary, as the son of a deacon and an unmarried woman, to receive the tonsure—the rectory or tithe (decima), without cure, of the three townlands (villatarum) of Balichyllinnyllean, Balidrinug and Balinicarchi, in different parishes in the said diocese of Kilmore, formerly wont to be assigned as a perpetual benefice to secular clerks, value not exceeding 8 marks, so long void that the mode of voidance is uncertain and that its collation etc. as above, f. 21. Ibid. (f. 88d.)	To Anthony, bishop of Concordia, dwelling in the Roman court. Mandate to receive Thomas Chauntrell's resignation of his rectory of Kilwebagh, in the diocese of Meath, and to collate and assign it, value not exceeding 40 marks, to Nicholas Rede, priest, of that diocese. Vite etc.

Id. Sept. St. Peter's, Rome. (f. 126d.)	To Robert Pobelowe, canon of Chichester. Mandate motu proprio to collate and assign to Thomas Harlyngh, clerk, of the diocese of Chichester, the parish church, value not exceeding 80 marks, of Pulbergh, in that diocese, the diocese, the cause about which—between him, who claimed to have had collation from the ordinary, and Richard Wanlyng, priest, of the same diocese, who hindered his obtaining peaceful possession, on its voidance by the death of John Brewode—was introduced, on Richard's appeal, to the apostolic see, which appeal and cause the pope, at Richard's instance, committed to the late Herman Bilvelt and other auditors. The pope, having learned that Richard, before the cause was committed, renounced before a notary public his right and title and his appeals, and publicly recognised Thomas as rector, hereby ratifies the renunciation, and orders as above. Vite etc. (De mandato.)
4 Non. July. St. Peter's, Rome. (f. 197.)	To John Teyr, clerk, of the diocese of Kildare. Grant to him, who is also abbreviator of apostolic letters, that the collation and provision made to him, as below, of the treasurership of Dublin, a non-major elective dignity with cure, value not exceeding 60 marks, shall hold good from the present date, even though it became void otherwise than as stated below. His late petition contained that the pope ordered the abbots of St. Mary's and St. Thomas the Martyr's by Dublin, their names not being expressed, and William Pyroim, canon of Dublin, to remove the late John de Swindon who, contrary to the statutes of Dublin, had held the treasurership for more than a year without being ordained priest, and to collate and assign it to Teyr; that the cause which arose between Swindon and Teyr, to whom Pyroim made the collation, was committed by the pope, at Teyr's instance, to Nicholas, bishop of Ferentino, then chaplain and auditor, and that whilst it was pending Swindon died in possession; and that the pope ordered the said auditor to surrogate Teyr to Swindon's right. The pope has learned that some assert the treasurership to have become and to be void otherwise than as above, and that Teyr—who has been duly surrogated, and has gained a definitive sentence in the apostolic palace—may be further molested. 8 Id. April. St. Peter's, Rome. (f. 204d.)	To James, bishop of Aquila, dwelling in the Roman court. Mandate motu proprio, as below, in the cause which lately arose between John Boor, canon of Salisbury, and Thomas Brake, priest, of the diocese of Lincoln, about the church of Oundell in that diocese, value not exceeding 200 marks, upon whose voidance—by the late Richard Treton's obtaining [cf. Reg. LXXXVIII, f. 265] the hospital with cure of St. John, Armeston, in the said diocese, wont to be assigned as a perpetual benefice—John asserted that he had collation from the ordinary, by virtue of which collation he obtained it and held possession for some time, and which collation and possession Thomas afterwards opposed and hindered, unjustly despoiling him and intruding himself; Thomas asserting that the church lawfully belonged to him. The cause, although not lawfully devolved to the Roman court, was committed by the pope, at Thomas's instance, to the above bishop, then papal chaplain and auditor, who—the cause in petitorio, which had been begun by both parties, having been suspended—has proceeded, in possessorio only, short of a conclusion. The pope having learned that it is asserted that neither of them has any right, orders motu proprio the bishop, who still holds the place of an auditor, if he find this to be the case, to collate and assign the church to John. Vite etc.

Id. April. St. Peter's, Rome. (f. 223d.)	To the bishop of Telese, the abbot of Westminster, and the official of London. Mandate motu proprio to collate and assign to Hugh Hanneworth, clerk, dwelling in the diocese of Lincoln, the canonry and prebend of Buckedene in Lincoln, value not exceeding 50 marks, provision of which was made to him by bishop Henry, by his ordinary authority, on their resignation to him by William Ock; it being asserted that the same are still void, the bishop's collation and provision not holding good because Ock was a papal chaplain. 10 Kal. Nov. St. Peter's, Rome. (f. 295d.)	To the prior of Cl[u]antuaschert Nasinna, in the diocese of Elphin. Mandate to reserve to Clement son of Matthew Vinaillacule, clerk, of the diocese of Ardagh—who was dispensed by the ordinary, as the son of a priest and an unmarried woman, to be promoted to minor orders, after which he was tonsured; and whom the pope, at his petition, has ordered the bishop of Ardagh to dispense to be promoted to all higher, even holy orders, and hold a benefice even with cure—after he has been so dispensed, a benefice with or without cure, according to his fitness in Latin, value not exceeding 25 or 18 marks respectively, in the common or several gift of the bishop and the dean and chapter and each of the canons and persone of Ardagh, provided that it be not a cathedral canonry and prebend. Dignum arbitramur.
