1476. 11 Kal. June. (22 May.) St. Peter's, Rome. (f. 54r.)	To the abbot of St. Mary's, Abingdon (Abendonie), in the diocese of Salisbury, O.S.B., and his brethren present and future. Taking their monastery and its possessions under the protection of St. Peter and the pope, forbidding theft, arson, violence, etc., within their enclosures, and confirming all their liberties and immunities, etc. Religiosam vitam. Kal. June. (1 June.) St. Peter's, Rome. (f. 57v.)	To John Weston, prior of the priory of St. John in England of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem, in the diocese of London. Confirmation of the collation and provision by Baptista de Ursinis, master-general and the convent of Rhodes of the said Hospital, made to him (who has made his profession as a brother of the said Hospital, is the Crucifer called the Turcupilar[i]us in the Island of Rhodes and in the expedition or fleet which is being sent by the said master and convent against the Turks, and has long fought in arms against them), of the said priory, which is general, on its becoming void by the death of William Tumei (fn. 1) (? recte Turnei) without the Roman court; with mandate to Thomas and Stephen, cardinal priests of St. Ciriac's and St. Adrian's, and the abbot of St. Mary's, Abingdon, to induct him, etc. Religionis zelus, vite etc. (In the margin: Maij.) 1477. 8 Id. Nov. (6 Nov.) St. Peter's, Rome. (f. 210v.)	To Malachy Oflangole, prior of St. Mary's de Achros alias de Insula Muraby, O.S.A., in the diocese of Killala (Aladen.) and Elphin. Collation and provision to him (who has made his profession and, notwithstanding his illegitimacy as the son of a priest professed of the said Order and an unmarried woman, has been promoted to all, even holy orders) of the said priory, conventual, elective and with cure, and value 24 marks sterling, void by the death of John Oflangole without Roman court, and reserved under the pope's late reservation of all conventual priories. Religionis etc.

1473[–4]. 16 Kal. March. (14 Feb.) St. Peter's, Rome. (f. 244r.)	To Thomas, bishop of Aberdeen. Exemption of him and the clergy of his diocese, for his lifetime, from the jurisdiction of Patrick, archbishop of St. Andrews, and any other archbishop of St. Andrews during the said period, the pope decreeing them to be immediately subject to him and the apostolic see. 1477. Prid. Kal. May. (30 April.) St. Peter's, Rome. (f. 266r.)	To John, bishop of Nocera, residing in the Roman court. Mandate, as below. Upon learning that the perpetual vicarage of Enerlethen in the diocese of Glasgow was void (because James, [now] bishop of Dunkeld, then of lower rank, (fn. 3) had detained it for more than a month after the lapse of the period during which, when collation thereof was made to him, he was dispensed to hold it together with his parish church of Fortewot in the diocese of St. Andrews and the precentorship (cantoriam) of Dunkeld, a dignity with cure), the pope ordered provision thereof to be made to William Turnbul, clerk, of the diocese of Glasgow. Afterwards, as the latter's recent petition contained, upon a cause arising between him and Robert Broun, George Ker and William Marscal, clerks, the pope at Turrnbul's instance, committed it, it having lawfully devolved to the Roman court by Turrnbull's extra-judicial appeal, to the above bishop, who holds the place of a papal auditor. The said petition adding that it is alleged that none of the said latter three has any right, nor Turrnbull himself (because the letters granted to him did not mention the fact that the said James had detained the vicarage without any right for some years; but less than six, and was still detaining it, and also the fact that the said James was of noble birth), the pope hereby orders the above bishop, if as the result of the suit he find that none of the said four has any right, to collate and assign the said vicarage, value 40l. sterling, to Turnbull, even if void by the pope's promotion of the said James to the see of Dunkeld, and by his consecration, or if void in any other way.
