Reservation to the pope's gift, for collation to him (who was lately dispensed by papal authority, as the son of a priest and an unmarried woman, to be promoted to all, even holy orders and hold a benefice even with cure, after which he had himself promoted to minor orders and obtained the rectory of Kyllecimechan in the diocese of Derry, which he afterwards resigned) of a benefice with or without cure, not being a major or principal dignity, value not exceeding 25 marks if with cure or 18 if without, in the gift of the bishops and the deans and chapters etc. of Derry and Connor; with dispensation to receive such benefice and to resign it, simply or for exchange, as often as he pleases, notwithstanding his said illegitimacy, etc. Vite. etc. |
