31. THE HOSPITAL OF HENLEY IN ARDEN

There was an old hospital in the town of Henley for the relief of wayfarers and the poor. All that is known concerning it is that it was being rebuilt and re-established in 1449, when Bishop Carpenter granted an indulgence of forty days, to hold good for three years, to all who assisted in the good work.
