Brough Sowerby is a parish adjoining Brough on the S.
Secular
(1). Stamp Yat, cottage, on the N.W. corner of the bend in the main road, 80 yards S. of Brough Sowerby bridge, is of two storeys. The walls are of rough ashlar and the roofs are slate-covered. It was built probably early in the 17th century and has a moulded string-course between the storeys with scrolled stops.
Condition—Good.
(2). Outbuilding, nearly opposite and S.E. of (1), is of two storeys. The walls are of rubble and the roofs are slate-covered. In the N. wall is a panel with the initials and date T. and B.W. 1708.
Condition—Good.
(3). Belahbridge House, 630 yards S. of Brough Sowerby bridge, was re-built in 1783, and has two 17th-century stones, one with the letters I.M. and the other with the inscription TARM 1666.
Condition—Good.
