MOULDINGS IN ESSEX.
The sections of stone mouldings shown on the two following pages are but a few of the outlines selected from the Commission's records, and while not intended to be fully representative of the wealth of detail in the County it is hoped that they may serve as part evidence for the dates given and incidentally may be useful as a guide to the student of architecture.
They are drawn to a uniform scale and have been arranged approximately in chronological order following the dates assigned to them in the Commission's Reports. Surface decoration is indicated in only a few cases. The examples are all taken from parish churches excepting those from Waltham Abbey, Little Dunmow Priory, and Beeleigh Abbey.
