POOLE KEYNES

Romano-British pottery and an iron axe-head, now in Gloucester City Museum, come from a gravel pit (approx. SU 010949) about 300 yds. N. of (1), at P. The pottery includes two rim sherds from mortaria and seventeen sherds of grey ware.
Poole Keynes. (1) Track and Enclosure.
(1) Wide Track and Enclosure (SU 008945), seen as crop-marks on gravel, occur about 300 yds. E. of Flagham Brook. The track (a) is 40 ft. to 50 ft. wide; three visible sides of the enclosure (b) define an area of about ½ acre.
