A coin of Constans and a fragment of samian ware (fn. 1) have been recorded from the vicinity of (1).
(1) Probable Settlement (SO 795038), undated, S. of Poplar Gate, shows on air photographs as indistinct crop-marks. They cover some 5 acres on a low eminence on the gravel terrace of the R. Frome, about 150 ft. above O.D. There are indications of enclosures amongst linear ditches.
