WESTONBIRT WITH LASBOROUGH

(12 miles S.W. of Cirencester)

An inscribed gabled tombstone was found at Bowldown Farm (ST 839926) before 1779. (fn. 1) See Beverstone for another inscribed tombstone from Nesley Farm, adjacent on the E. Roman coins are said to have been found at Bowldown, (fn. 2) and a Roman villa is believed to have existed at Lasborough (about ST 820940). (fn. 3)
