Pleading: Elizabeth de Arundell states that on 25 November 1388, John de Arundell agreed to rent to Thomas a great chamber on the eastern side of the hall of his manor of Stopham, another chamber annexed to the first, and also a long chamber on the western side of the hall, between the kitchen and the granary, with a 'clerkenewall' enclosing a garden to the north side of the hall, along with annexed fireplaces and free entry and exit to these chambers, for two years from the date of the bond, as long as he did not damage the rest of the hall. In exchange, Thomas was to pay at the manor of Chancton, [Sussex], 42 marks, 10 marks at the octave of Epiphany, 10m at the octave of the purification, and 22m at the quindene of Easter. He did not pay JA or EA, to their damage of £40. Agreement shown in court, sealed by Thomas, and also the will of John, appointing EA as executor.
Pleading: TN states that this property was taken from him before the end of the agreed period, and that he did pay the requested sums at the times agreed, at Surrey in Kent.

Postea text: Process continued, jury in respite until octave of Trinity, nisi prius they come before William Rykhill and William Hankeford, justices of the Bench, at St Martin le Grand on 17 May 1401. On this day, parties came by attorney, WR sent record that on that day, before him and Thomas Stotevile, RF came, John Godeston did not, but his attorney brought letters of protection, dated 5 March 1401, stating that JG was serving the king under Thomas de Swynborne, captain of Hammes castle, the letters to last for one year, during which he was to be free of all pleas except pleas of dower. To which RF showed letters cancelling the protection, dated 9 March 1401, as the king understood that JG was not in his service but delaying in London, and procured the letters in order to exclude the king from sums in which JG was bound to Richard II, and other sums to other people. Jurors placed in respite until the octave of St John the Baptist, unless they come before Rikhill and Hankeford, justices, at St Martin le Grand on 16 June 1401, as the jury did not come.

Pleading: John, Bishop of Coventry and Lichfield, states that James Clifford, on 1 September 1399, took from him 2 horses worth 10m, and other goods, namely one mitre, one portable breviary, two cloths of gold, 7 yards of black cloth, one bed with all its fixtures, one tablecloth, one towel, 3 pieces of silver, and one piece of silver and gilt, to value of £30, and £70 in cash, to his damage of £200.
Pleading: JC denies force and arms, and acting against the peace, and states that after Henry IV came into England on 1 July 1399 to pursue Richard II and his adherents, he was ordered to attach the bishop, who was adhering to Richard, and bring him to Henry. On 1 August 1399 he found the bishop at Northleach in Gloucestershire, with these horses, goods and cash, and took the bishop and the property, to Henry in London, delivering them into the custody of Thomas Rempston, steward of the king's household, for the king's use. And he says that in the parliament held at Westminster on 14 October 1399, it was ordained that no-one should be prosecuted for assisting the new king or pursuing Richard II, or taking goods to his use, from the time of Henry's return to the date of his coronation.
Pleading: The Bishop states that he is not aware that James ever had orders to arrest him and his goods at Northleach and take them to London, as he alleges, but says that before that Monday he was in possession of these goods etc, and that he was forcibly removed from possession on that Monday, in London, as he claimed.
