  • 3. The Company have since been repaid by Government a Part of these Charges, Credit for the Amount having been allowed to them in, their Account with Government, settled by the Act 3 Geo. 4, Cap. 93.
  • 4. With reference to the Note annexed to the Bengal Account (No. 1. A.), this Surplus may be considered as virtually increased to the Sum of £1,282,825.
  • 5. Payments from the Burmese Government, under the Treaty of 24th February 1826.
  • 6. The Heads of Revenue and Charge first appearing in this Year were previously incorporated with other Heads.
  • 7. Profits of the Government Bank.—TheReceiptin1826-27 is the accumulated Amount since the Institution of the Bank in 1806.
  • 8. In 1815-16 a Loan was obtained from The Nabob of Oude of £1,109,975, which was commuted for Territory by the Treaty of 1st of May 1816. The Amount may be considered as a Deduction from the Charges of the War against Nepaul, from which State the Territory was conquered, and as increasing the Bengal Surplus Revenue to £3,051,442.
  • 9. Batta to Troops engaged in the Burmese War.
  • 10. This Sum is a Part of the Deccan Prize Money, which was erroneously credited as Revenue in former Years.
  • 11. Amount paid to The Nizam, in Redemption of the Annual Peshcush of £72,072, payable to that Prince on account of the Northern Circars.
  • 12. Amount paid in Discharge of Petty Claims on the late Nabobs of the Carnatic.
  • 13. The Heads of Revenue and Charge first appearing in this Year were previously incorporated with other. Heads.
  • 14. The Accounts of Sincapore and Malacca are included in these Years; but for Nine Months only in: the Year 1826-27, and for the whole Year. in 1827-28.
  • 15. The Company have since been repaid by His Majesty's Government a Part of these Charges, Credit for the Amount having been allowed to them in their Account with Government, settled by the Act 3 Geo. 4, Cap. 93.
