Hungerford Road Bill.

Hodie 2^a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for enlarging the Term and Powers of an Act passed in the Twelfth Year of the Reign of His present Majesty, for repairing and widening the Road from the End of the present Turnpike Road from Besselsleigh to Hungerford, in the County of Berks, to Leekford, otherwise Sousley Water, in the County of Wilts."

The King against Amery, in Error.

Ordered, That the further Consideration of the Petition of the Relator in the Cause between the King against Amery, presented to the House on the 22d of December 1790, which stands appointed for this Day, be put off to Tuesday next.

Dundas Road Bill.

The Earl of Doncaster reported from the Lords Committees, to whom the Bill, intituled, "An Act for completing, repairing, and maintaining the Road leading from the City of Glasgow to Port Dundas, and from Port Dundas to the High Road leading from the City of Glasgow to Garscube Bridge, by Dobbies Loan, in the County of Lanark," was committed: "That they had considered the said Bill, and examined the Allegations thereof, which were found to be true; and that the Committee had gone through the Bill, and directed him to report the same to the House, without any Amendment."

Election of Peers for Scotland, report to be received.

The Lord Cathcart reported from the Lords Committees for Privileges, to whom was referred the several Petitions relative to the late Return of the Peers chosen for Scotland, "That the Committee had come to a Resolution, which he was ready to report, when the House will please to receive the same."

It was moved, "That the said Report be received on Thursday Se'nnight."

Which being objected to;

An Amendment was proposed to be made to the said Motion, by leaving out ("Thursday Se'nnight") and inserting ("now")

Salford, &c Roads Bill.

The Duke of Bridgewater reported from the Lords Committees to whom the Bill, intituled, "An Act for repairing, widening and improving certain Roads leading to and from the Towns of Salford, Warrington, Bolton and Wigan, and to certain Places called the Broad Oak in Worsley, and Duxbury Stocks; and also the Road from a Place called South Sea, in Pendlebury, to Agecroft Bridge, and from thence through Hilton Lane, to Dawson Lane End; and also from Agecroft Bridge, over Kersal Moor, to Singleton Brook, all in the County Palatine of Lancaster," was committed: "That they had considered the said Bill, and examined the Allegations thereof, which were found to be true; and that the Committee had gone through the Bill, and made some Amendments thereto."

Line 11., and insert ("or which shall or may be collected under the Powers or Authorities of this present Act, shall be by the said Trustees applied in the Manner after mentioned, that is to say, that out of the Monies already collected by virtue of the said former Act, or to be collected by virtue or under the Authority of this present Act, at the said Turnpike at Pendleton, the Expences of procuring and passing this Act shall be first paid and discharged, and that after full Payment thereof, the Remainder of such Monies and also the Monies or Tolls already collected, under the Authority of the said former Act, or to be collected under the Authority of this present Act, at each of the several and respective Turnpikes or Turnpike Gates, to be continued, erected or set up in the Manner hereinbefore mentioned, and all Money borrowed on the Credit thereof severally and respectively, shall be applied in paying and discharging the Expences of setting up or erecting such respective Turnpikes, and of erecting and providing a Toll House for the same respectively, and in paying off and discharging all such Sums of Money as are now due and owing, or which shall hereafter be borrowed under the Authority of this Act, upon the Credit of the Tolls of such Turnpikes respectively; and all Interest now due, or hereafter to grow due thereon, until the same shall be fully paid and satisfied; but so and in such Manner, nevertheless, that no Part of the Sums or Tolls collected or to be collected at any of the said Turnpikes shall be applicable or applied in or towards Payment of any Debt contracted at any other of the said Turn pikes, or on Account of the making of the several and respective Roads in or through the respective Districts or District to which the others or other of the said respective Turnpikes belong or appertain; and after full Payment and Satisfaction of all such several Sums before mentioned, then that the Remainder of the said Monies or Tolls collected or to be collected at the said Turnpike at Pendleton, shall be in the first Place applied in and upon the making, repairing and widening the said Road, from the One Mile Stone in Salford aforesaid, to the Division of the Townships of Pendlebury and Swinton, and that the Surplus of such Monies or Tolls, over and above what shall be necessary from Time to Time to keep the same in effectual and complete Repair, if any such shall remain, shall be divided into four equal Parts; two fourth Parts thereof to be applied in and upon Account of making, repairing, widening and maintaining the Road, between the said Division of the Townships of Pendlebury and Swinton, and the White Horse in West Houghton; one other fourth Part in and upon Account of making, repairing and maintaining the Road from Irlams-o'-th'Height to Bolton; and the remaining fourth Part in and upon Account of making, repairing and maintaining the Road leading from the present Turnpike in Pendleton, to the Division between Cadishead and Lower Irlam; the same to be divided unto and among the several Townships, according to the Length of the said Roads lying within each)."

And the said Amendments, being read a Second Time, were agreed to by the House.

And the Counsel for the Plaintiffs having been heard; as also the Counsel for the Defendants;

West India Trade Bill.

Hodie 2^a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act to amend an Act passed in the Twenty-seventh Year of His present Majesty's Reign, for allowing the Importation and Exportation of certain Goods, Wares, and Merchandize, in Foreign Ships, into and from certain Ports and Places in the West Indies; and for amending so much of an Act made in the Thirty-second Year of the Reign of His present Majesty, as relates to permitting the Importation of Sugar into the Bahama and Bermuda Islands, in Foreign Ships; and so much of two Acts, made in the Twenty-eighth and Thirty-first Years of His present Majesty's Reign, as prohibits the Importation of Timber into any Island under the Dominion of His Majesty in the West Indies, from any Foreign Colony or Plantation in the West Indies or South America; and so much of the said Act made in the Twenty-eighth Year of His present Majesty's Reign, as prohibits the Importation of Pitch, Tar, and Turpentine into Nova Scotia, or New Brunswick, from any Country belonging to the United States of America."

Ordered, That the said Bill be committed to a Committee of the whole House.

Leeds and Liverpool Canal Bill:

The Order of the Day being read for taking into Consideration the special Report from the Committee, to whom the Bill, intituled, "An Act to enable the Company of Proprietors of the Canal Navigation from Leeds to Liverpool to vary the Line of the said Canal Navigation; and to raise a further Sum of Money for the Purpose of completing the said Canal Navigation, and for other Purposes," was committed:

The Order of the Day being read for the House to be put into a Committee upon the Bill, intituled, "An Act for requiring a certain Form of Oath of Abjuration, and Declaration, from his Majesty's Subjects professing the Roman Catholic Religion in that Part of Great Britain called Scotland;" and for the Lords to be summoned:

Hastings' Trial:

The Order of the Day being read for the proceeding further in the Trial of Warren Hastings Esquire, upon the Articles of Impeachment brought up against him by the Commons, for High Crimes and Misdemeanors:

The Lord Viscount Sydney reported from the Lords Committees, to whom the Bill, intituled, "An Act for confirming and rendering effectual a Partition and Division between William Thomas Darby Esquire, and Saint Andrew Saint John Esquire, of divers Manors, Lands and Hereditaments, (heretofore the Estate of Richard Jackson Esquire, deceased), in the several Counties of Norfolk, Essex, Surrey, Middlesex and the City of London; and for limiting and settling the specific Parts thereof, which upon such Partition and Division, were allotted to each of them, to the several Uses therein mentioned," was committed: "That they had considered the said Bill, and examined the Allegations thereof, which were found to be true; that the Parties concerned had given their Consents to the Satisfaction of the Committee, and that the Committee had gone through the Bill, and made one Amendment thereto."

Which Amendment, being read Twice by the Clerk, was agreed to by the House.

Ordered, That the said Bill with the Amendment be engrossed.

West Harptry Roads Bill.

Bawtry Road Bill.
