V. Weymouth takes the Oaths.
This Day Thomas Viscount Weymonth took the Oaths, and made and subscribed the Declaration, and also took and subscribed the Oath of Abjuration, pursuant to the Statutes.
McAdam against Magistrates of Ayr:
Upon reading the Petition of Quintin McAdam Esquire, Appellant in a Cause depending in this House, and of the Magistrates and Town Council of Ayr, Respondents thereto, which stands appointed for Hearing; setting forth, "That the Matter in Dispute between the Parties being settled, they are desirous that the Appeal should be withdrawn;" and therefore praying their Lordships, "That the Appellant may be at Liberty to withdraw his said Appeal without Costs:"
Appeal withdrawn.
It is Ordered, That the Appellant be at Liberty to withdraw his said Appeal, without Costs, as desired.
Beckford against Beckford.
The House being informed, "That William Beckford Esquire, Respondent to the Appeal of Richard Beckford of the City of London Esquire, had not put in his Answer to the said Appeal, though duly served with the Order of this House for that Purpose:"
And thereupon an Affidavit of Thomas Sermon of the due Service of the said Order being read:
Ordered, That the said Respondent do put in his Answer to the said Appeal, peremptorily, in a Week.
Williams's Divorce Bill:
The Lord Ashburton presented to the House (pursuant to an Order of Leave on the 23d of December last) a Bill, intituled, "An Act to dissolve the Marriage of John Williams of the City of Exeter, Gentleman, with Elizabeth his now Wife, and to enable him to marry again, and for other Purposes therein mentioned."
The said Bill was read the First Time.
Ordered, That the said Bill be read a Second Time on Tuesday the 11th Day of February next; and that Notice thereof be affixed on the Doors of this House; and the Lords summoned; and that the said John Williams may be heard by his Counsel at the said Second Reading, to make out the Truth of the Allegations of the Bill; and that the said Elizabeth may have a Copy of the Bill; and that Notice be given her of the said Second Reading; and that she be at Liberty to be heard by her Counsel what she may have to offer against the said Bill at the same Time.
Witnesses to attend.
Ordered, That Mary Isaac, Susanna Reeves, John Drake Surgeon, Samuel Casely, Mary Lane, and William Sandford Gentleman, do attend this House on Tuesday the 11th Day of February next, in order to their being examined as Witnesses upon the Second Reading of the said Bill.
Judges Reports, Limitation of.
Ordered, That this House will not receive any Report from the Judges upon Petitions presented to this House for Private Bills, after Friday the 4th Day of April next.
Ordered, That the said Order be affixed on the Doors of this House and Westminster Hall.

The Answer of William Beckford Esquire, to the Appeal of Richard Beckford Esquire, was this Day brought in.
Public Accounts, Eighth Report of Commissioners delivered.
The House being informed, "That Mr. Beachcroft and Mr. Drummond, Two of the Commissioners appointed to examine, take and state the Public Accounts of the Kingdom, attended:"
They were called in, and delivered at the Bar,
"The Eighth Report of the Commissioners appointed to examine, take and state the Public Accounts of the Kingdom."
And then they withdrew.
And the Title thereof being read by the Clerk;
Ordered, That the said Report do lie on the Table.
Williams et Ux. Petition referred to Judges.
Upon reading the Petition of John Hanbury Williams of Coldbrook, in the County of Monmouth Esquire, and Elizabeth his Wife, praying Leave to bring in a Bill for the Purposes in the said Petition mentioned:
It is Ordered, That the Consideration of the said Petition be and is hereby referred to the Lord Chief Baron of the Court of Exchequer, and Mr. Baron Perryn, who are forthwith to summon all Parties concerned in the Bill; and after hearing them, are to report to the House the State of the Case, with their Opinion thereupon under their Hands; and whether all Parties who may be concerned in the Consequences of the Bill have signed the Petition; and also, that the Judges, having perused the Bill, do sign the same.
D. Queensberry against Sir W. Douglas et al.
The House being informed, "That Sir William Douglas of Killhead Baronet and others, Respondents to the Appeal of William Duke of Queensberry, had not put in their Answer to the said Appeal, though duly served with the Order of this House for that Purpose:"

Canterbury Road Bill.
A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Mr. Robinson and others:
With a Bill, intituled, "An Act for continuing and amending Two Acts of the Ninth and Twenty-seventh Years of His late Majesty, for repairing and widening the Road leading from Saint Dunstan's Cross, near the City of Canterbury, to the Water Side at Whitstable, in the County of Kent;" to which they desire the Concurrence of this House.
Fasnacht's Naturalization Bill.
A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Mr. Elwes and others:
With a Bill, intituled, "An Act for naturalizing David Emanuel Fasnacht;" to which they desire the Concurrence of this House.
The said Three Bills were, severally, read the First Time.
The House was adjourned during Pleasure.

The Lord Grantham (by His Majesty's Command) presented to the House.
