Appunctuament a super Redditione Mercatus de Meaux. This is the Pleasure and Will of the King of France and of the King of Engeland his Beaufitz Heire and Regent of France, that the Market place of Mewes, and they that bene with inne bene Yelden and Deliveren in manner as after followeth, An. 10. H. 5. Penes Cleric. Pell. First, all thos that bene within the foresaid Market, of what Estate they bene, shul Yelden up the said Market place of Mewis, and her Bodies Prisoners to the said King, within the tenth Day of this present Month of May, the Yere of our Lord one thousand four hundred, twenty two. Also, the said Kings, for the Reverence of God, and for eschewing Christien Man's Blode, shull receyven hem after as it followeth, that is to weton, Sur Loys Geist, Guycharde Dechisse, Maister Robert Guesme, Philip de Gamoches, Peron de Luppe, John Dannoy, Le Bastard de Varru, Denis de Varru, Maister John de Roumos Treemayn, Bernarde de Merville, John de la Mote, One that blewe and sonned an Horne duryng the Siege, that Meserth is named Grasse, All the Governers, and Strenghes, and Coupable of the Deth of Burgoyne that was, They that other tyme have made Othe of the FINAL PEES, Thei that have Touns and Strenghes, or Governaunce by other for hem, The English, Irish, Scots, and all other that have bene Obedient or under Obedience of the King Regent, if any other be in the forsaid Market place dwelling, that all they shall abide and dwell to the Will of the said Kings Also, the said Kyngis shull receive all the other, in the said Market place beynge, into her good Grace and Mercy, for to dwell Prisoners, her lifes saved. Also, the Erle of Brienne shull beene quite agayne the said Peron of all that in the which is holden or bounden for cause of his Raunsome or otherwise: and the said Peron shall pleynly Quiten him in taking his Letters of Acquitaunces to the said Erle; and he shall yilden to him all the Letters that he hath of him or of any other opon that. Also, the forsaid, being in the said Market of Mewis in Bry, hanging the said tyme, and that anon, shull putten, or shall done be putte, by Inventories, all the Cornes, Wynes, and other Vetaill, beyng in the said Market, and aftir the places where they shull bene, for to bene taken and delivered to the Commissioners and Deputes of the said Kings; and in likewise shall bene of Hors beynge in the said Market. Also, thei shull putten, or done be putten, in one certaine place, withinne the said Market, all the Ablementes of Werre that bene ther inne, as well Poudres, Gonnes, Arblasters, Shotte, or other Artilrie, without any thing thereof to Feoshen, Brekeyn, or Enpeyren. Also, all thoo above said of the Market shull putten, or doe be putten, to-
geder, in a certayne place or too, all the Reliques, Jewells, Bookes, Ornaments, and other Goods mebles beyng in the said Market, longyng to Churches, Abbeys, Ministres, Priores, or Hospitalls, what so they bene, in levynge hem to bene Restitute in her places of the Churches of the said Market, and that without fraude. Also thei shull putten in o place, or do be putten, or too, all the Gold, Silver, Vessell of Gold and Silver, Jewells, Bokes, Robes, Lynen and Wollen all maner, beyng in the said Market, that longed to other thanne to the said Churches, Abbeys, Ministers, Priores, and Hospitalles, and that without fraude or mal engyn. Also, for to fulfillen that, that is said, thei shall brekn, or done breiken, and undone, and maken open, all that bene hidde or withdrawne in the Things and Goodes abovesaid, or any of hem, where that they bene hidde or discovrind in the said Market, without Withdrawying or to Helen any thing what so it be; and that, that they may not be done or excused with in the foresaid day, they shull declaren and denouncen, without fraude, feynyngne, or mal engyne, unto the Commissioners and Deputes of the said Kings, upon Peyne that they schull done the contrary, and the consentants and culpables thereof, shull lesen the Grace of the said Kings, and the effecte of this present Appointment in all things. Also, upon the said Peyne, the bovesaid, beyng in the said Market, shull be holden to taken and deliveren, shewen and declaren, without fraude or mal engyn, to the Commissioners and Deputes of the said Kings, all the Goodes and Thynges abovesaid, without that to any thyng to Helen, With drawne, or Bere awey, or other for hem, or eny of hem. Also, that the abovesaid, being in the said Market of Mews, shall deliver pleynly and yolden quite all the Prisoners, that thei have and with holden of the Subgetts and Obeysaunce and other of the Service of the said Kings, as well all that bene in the said Market, as other places where that thei be; and, with that, thei shull quitten pleinly all other Subgetts, Obeysauntes, and other of the said Services of the abovesaid Kynges, that have to hem made any Feith or Othe. Also, hangyng the said Tyme, thei, of the said Market, shull not receven, ne suffren entren, eny Parsone, whatsoever they be, into the said Market: ne thei shull not suffren any maner of Parsone to passen or gone out thereof, or for to beyren any of the said Goodes ther inne, withouten Lycence of the said Kyngis: nether shall none purchasen, ne suffren ne done purchasen, ony thing that may be prejudice of the said Kyngis, ne of non other of her Subgettes, or elles, to enpechen the fulfilling of this present Appointment, upon Peyne to lesyng by hym, or hem, that shall done the contrarye, and her Concentauntes and Culpables thereof, the Grace and Mercy of the said Kyngs. Also, and, upon the Peyn and Othe, all the foresaid, being in the seid Market, and every of hem, shull holden, kepen, and fulfillen all the Pointes and Articles abovesaid, and every of hem, withouten hem or eny of hem to breiken, ne any wyse do ther agayn. Also, with that, they shull maken Othe, and thei shull taken her Letters, sealed with her Seales, for the Suerte, to be holden bytwene of the Kyngs abovesaid and of eche of hem, unto the Noumbre of an hundred Persones, as well of Captaines, as of other most Notable, beyng in the said Market: and thei that have no Seales, and conne write, thei shall Signe the Letters with her own handes, and thei shall passen bifore the Kynges Tabellion of Mews; and in like wise thei, that have no Sealles ne conne not write, shull also passen bifore the said Tabellion to bene Registred. Also, and that, fro the Day that this present Appointment shall be done and fulfilled, and unto the Day included, at which Day they shull bene holden to taken and deliveren the said Market, as is said alwey, all maner of Dede of Werre shall Cesen of on Partie and other. Also, the bovesaid of the Market anon shall taken and deliveren to the Commissioners and Deputees of the said Kingis, Sir Loys Gaste, Robert de Guesme, Phelip de Gamoches, John Dannoy, le Bastard de Warru, Denis de Warru, Maister John de Roumes, and other to the Noumbre of xxiv Persones, whereof the Commissioners of oo parte and of other bene acorded.
