Grimsted alias Grymesteden. The manor (extent given) including tenants in Alwardesburi and Farnle, with the patronage of the church of Westgrymsteden, held of the king in chief by service of two parts of 1 knight's fee.
Estgrymstede. 60a. land, 4a. meadow and 20s. rent, held of the heirs of Walter Walrand by service of 5s. 2d.
Albedeston. The manor (extent given) with the patronage of the chapel, held of the abbess of Wilton at fee farm by service of 100s.
Bymerton and Quidhamton. 2 virgates arable, and rents of free tenants, customers and cottars, &c. held of Hugh Chamberlayn in chief by service of 1/10 knight's fee.
Mulchet. The bailiwick of keeping the park, taking all the issues, saving to the king vert and venison, and pannage exceeding 6s. 8d., held of the king by service of 40s. fee farm yearly to be rendered by the hands of the bailiff of Claryndon.

Camerington. A messuage and 3 carucates land, whereof 9 bovates in demesne, and 1 carcucate and 7 bovates in service (extent given with names of tenants), including 1 bovate held by Simon Stanhard by knight's service, ½ carucate held by Joan relict of Stephen de Camerington, his brother, in dower, and 1 bovate held by the master of the Holy Sepulchre near Hedon in frank almoin; for all which the said John did suit at the wapentake of Holderness.
Otringham alias Otringhaym. 1½ bovate land, of the fee of William de Lacels, held of the king in demesne, owing suit at the said wapentake; 2s. yearly rent from the land of Thomas Lambin; a close called Gunnermerk, jointly held by the said John and Beatrice his wife, of the fee of William de Laceles, owing suit; 2 bovates land and 2 tofts jointly held (as above) of the king in chief by knight's service, of the enfeoffment of John de Halsem, rendering to him ½d. yearly; a close held by the said John of the fee of the provost of Beverley in demesne, rendering to the heir of William de Lacels a clove gillyflower yearly; also 4a. called Collings held in demesne by the said John of the same fee and by the same service; and 4s. rent held in demesne of the same fee, to be received from Robert Lambin for a toft.
Suntthorp. 19s. 8½d. rent, of the fee of Thomas de Sutthorp, to be received of the hands of Anketin and William de Sutthorp, rendering to the said Thomas a clove gillyflower yearly.
Aldeburgh. A close and 4 bovates land jointly held (as above) in free marriage of the said Beatrice, of the heirs of Simon de Gloucestre, rendering 4d. yearly.
Juliana, his daughter, aged 17 and more and married to Robert de Boby six years ago, is his next heir.

Westpirie. The manor (extent given) with the patronage of the church, held, together with certain lands, &c. in Howton which long before his death he had given to Laurence his son and heir, of the king in chief by service of 1 knight's fee.
Westpirie. A messuage, 72a. land, 6a. meadow, 31s. 2d. rents, &c. (extent given), whereof the said Robert and Sarra his wife, who survives, were jointly enfeoffed, tenure unspecified.
Laurence and Philip, aged 30 at the feast of the Ascension 15 Edw. I., are his twin sons, born on the same day, but Laurence being the firstborn, is his next heir; all which the said Philip in the presence of his mother and the jurors, and also on Thursday the morrow of the above Wednesday at Watford in the presence of the escheator, acknowledged to be true, and that he claimed nothing of his father's inheritance.
Writ (of certiorari) on the complaint of Sarra late the wife of the said Robert, that the escheator had taken into the king's hand a messuage, lands &c. in Westpiry, whereof she was jointly enfeoffed with her husband and in full seisin on the day of his death, 20 March, 16 Edw. I.
Northampton. Inq. Monday the morrow of the Sunday called Quasimodo geniti. (defective).
Westperi. The said Robert and Sarra were jointly enfeoffed of a messuage &c. (extent given as abovesaid) to be held of Robert Mauntel and his heirs by service of 1d. The said Robert Mauntel held the same before the said enfeoffment, of the said Robert de Pavely by service of 1 knight.

Antingham. A messuage, 80a. arable, a windmill &c. with the advowson of the church of St. Mary, held of the abbot of St. Benet's, Hulme, by service of 12s. 4d. yearly.
Walsham. 26a. arable held of the fee of the church of the same place by service of 12d. and 2lb. of incense.
Felmygham. 2a. land held of John son of Robert and his parceners by service of 1d. yearly.
(Unspecified.) 70a. arable held of divers lords by service of 3s. 5d. yearly.
Antingham. A pasture held of William Elverun by service of 1d., and there are there rents of assize, works, &c. (extent given).
All the aforesaid tenements are held by socage.

Norfolk; Hundred of Eynesford. Inq. Friday in Whitsun week, 16 Edw. I.
Wychincham. The manor (extent given) sometime held by the said Bartholomew of Sir Bertram le Criel by service of 1¾ knight's fee, with its members Scotho and Briston; the said Bertram held it of the barony of Damerung by the said service, and the barony is held of the king in chief by the same service. The said Bartholomew gave the manor to John his brother on Wednesday before Epiphany, 16 Edw. I, and he had seisin from the Saturday following to the end of his life, as is testified by a charter which the said John produces. The manor ought to descend to Alice daughter of Nicholas de Bernygham and her heirs for ever, after the death of the said John. The said barony was proportioned between the three daughters of Hamo Crewekar, one of whom Bertram le Criel espoused, and through her the said Bartholomew held the said tenement by knight's service as above, and by doing 17s. 6d. every 28 weeks for the guard of the castle of Dover.

Normanton. The manor (extent given) held of Lady Isabel de Rose by service of ½ knight's fee, except the capital messuage which is of the fee of the Temple, rendering 2s. 6d. for the guard of the castle of Beuver, and 4s. to the master of the Temple.

Lincoln. Extent, Tuesday after Palm Sunday, 16 Edw. I.
Auburn. The manor (full extent given) including fisheries called Wythyn, and Le Brant in the marsh, held of Lady Isabel de Ros in chief by service of 1 knight's fee, and for 25s. 11d. which as well the freemen as the customers of the manor shall give her for a fixed fine.

Lincoln. Extent, Tuesday after Palm Sunday, 16 Edw. I.
Ledenham. The manor (full extent given) including 15a. meadow called Temple eng, and 110a. arable, rents &c. in Braythelond, from whence 6s. 8d. are rendered to the Templars of La Bruere. The king was in seisin of the said lands &c. after the decease of Peter de Salveye, and thereof enfeoffed Hugh son of Otes, service unknown, who afterwards enfeoffed Walter de Colevyle, service unknown, and from him descended his right to Roger his son and heir who last died.

Dorset. Extent, Wednesday the eve of the Ascension, 16 Edw. I.
Litele Pydele. The manor, which was of the inheritance of Stephen de Baioc(is) (full extent given) including 4a. land which the said Stephen gave to Eva de Baioc(is) for life, rendering ½lb. pepper, held of the king in chief by service of 1 knight's fee, together with ½ knight's fee which the prior &c. of Christchurch, Tuynham, hold, and had of the gift of Ralph Buchard in the time of King Henry the king's father, and it was of the inheritance of Stephen de Baioc(is). At each vacancy of any prior the lord shall have 40s. And there is there a chapel to which pertains of the lord's will a messuage and 1 virgate land, and it shall have the tithes of the demesne by the will of the lord, and neither the bishop nor archdeacon shall interfere in the celebration of the said chapel, but the lord shall give the land and tithes to whomsoever he will.
Dorset. Extent, Friday the morrow of the Ascension, 16 Edw. I.
Edmundesham. The manor, which was of the inheritance of Stephen de Baioc(is) (full extent given) including 7a. alder wood, and a chapel within the court, for which the rector of the church of Wychampton is bound to find a chaplain celebrating weekly, held of Sir John de Mautravers by service of ⅓ knight's fee; and 30a. wood and 10a. pasture are held of Sir Robert de Pleicy by 6d. yearly rent.
Dorset. Extent, Tuesday before the Ascension, 16 Edw. I.
Waye Baioc(is) and Stottingwaye. The manor, which was of the inheritance of Stephen de Baioc(is) (full extent given with names of tenants), including pasture upon Le Heldelond, Leyforlang, the hill, Middeldon and La Westdon, tenure unspecified.
Alienations. Divers small tenures (extent given).
Lincoln. Extent, Friday after Easter, 16 Edw. I.
Thoresweye. The manor (full extent given) including two parts of a watermill pertaining to the heirs of Stephen de Baiocis, and the third part is of the purchase of the said Elias. The advowson of the church pertains to the said heirs.
Purchases. 124a. arable in Thoresweye were purchased by the said Elias and Maud, viz.—104a. of Euphemia late the wife of Roger de Nevill, and 20a. of Thomas son of Alan de Pinkenham; also a watermill purchased of the said Euphemia, 170a. arable, 7 tofts and a third part of a watermill of Hugh de Baiocis, 2a. land and 4d. rent of Alan West, and 4d. rent of Alan son of Robert de Thoresweye; and 2½a. arable in Croxeby purchased of William son of Ranulph.
All the said purchased lands the said Elias and Maud gave to John de Rabayn their son seven years ago.
Lincoln. Extent, Tuesday after the Close of Easter, 16 Edw. I.
Styueton. The manor (full extent given with names of tenants) including a ditch (fossatum), meadow and pasture in Mares, Howdayles, Linegarth, Grymolby, Saltfleteby, Le Beck of Stiueton, Suthcroft, Glusthorp, La Launde and Frostcroft in Salsfletby, and free tenants in Grymolby, Saltfletby and Skitebrok. The advowsons of the church of Styueton, and of a moiety of the church of Grimolby, pertain to the heirs of Stephen de Baiocis.
Alienations. The said Elias released to the abbot of Louth Park of the inheritance of Baiocis 9s. rent from a mill called Le Burghmilne, and a mill toll at the said mill, and granted him to close a way from Stiueton to Louth through the abbot's pasture called Gymaldeshawe; and he used to break down a dike called Munkesdyk once a year in time of drought for irrigating his meadow and filling (adaquanda) the ditch, for 3 days; and he gave a born bondman with his issue (sequela), and 21a. land and meadow which he held of the said heirs, to Sir John de Bek.
Purchases. 2 tofts were purchased in Styueton, rendering 13s. 8d. yearly, and 122a. arable.
Lincoln. Extent, Tuesday after the Close of Easter, 16 Edw. I.
Kaylesthorp. The manor (full extent given). The advowson of the church pertains to the heirs of Stephen de Baiocis. And the said heirs had in Kellestern 32½a. and ½ perch arable in demesne, pasture in Bruer', 32s. 6d. and ½lb. cummin rent of free tenants, 5 bovates in villenage, and 4½a. pasture in Graungecroft.
Purchases. A toft and ½ bovate land in Kaylesthorp were purchased of Robert Freman, and a toft and 2 bovates in Kellestern purchased of Robert de Baiocis of Thevelby. All which lands &c. as well of purchase as of the inheritance of Baiocis, which were theirs in Kellestern, the said Elias and Maud gave to Robert de Brakenberg in free marriage with Joan their daughter.
Lincoln. Extent, Thursday after Easter, 16 Edw. I.
Lindewode. The manor (full extent given) including rents of free tenants in Est Rasen called Warenot, Middle Rasen and Tynton by Horncastre. Two parts of the advowson of the church pertain to the heirs of Stephen de Baiocis.
Purchases. A third part of the said advowson was purchased from Adam de Baiocis; 4a. land, 3r. meadow, and a toft in Lindewode from Juliana de Lincoln, rendering 6d. yearly; a piece of meadow in Faldingworth, 6s. rent in North Wikham, and 3s. in the Bailey (Le Baille) of Lincoln from William Malet; and ½ knight's fee in Lindewode (extent given) held by Henry de Baiocis of the heirs of the said Elias, which the said Elias purchased of Alan son of William Malet.

Welleburn. The manor (full extent given) including a croft called Hestcroft, and customs called Suintack, Hestgelt and Schirebon.
Purchases. One bovate land was purchased in Welleburn.

Styandby. A capital messuage, 74½a. arable, and rents (extent given) held by William de Helewell of the heirs of John de Kyme by service of ¼ knight's fee and 1d., and by them of the heirs of the said Stephen by the same knight's service; and 74½a. arable, and rents (extent given) similarly held by Nicholas son of Richard de Cumpton, who also held the advowson of the church, by the same knight's service.
Eylesthorp. A capital messuage, 80a. arable, rents &c. (extent given) held by Suspirius de Baiocis of the heirs of the said Stephen by service of ¼ knight's fee.

[Merston.] A capital messuage, 67½a. arable in demesne, 27a. meadow, and rents (extent given) held by the heirs of Elias de Merston in the same, of the heirs of Peter de Goushill by service of two parts of 1 knight's fee, 4s. yearly, 12d. for sheriff's aid, and 8d. for view of frank-pledge, and the said heirs hold them of the heirs of the said Stephen by the said knight's service.

[Repinghal.] 12 bovates land held by John son of John de Repinghal in the same, of William de Roos by service of ½ knight's fee, who holds of the said heirs by the same service.

Brauncewell. A capital messuage and 24 bovates land, held by John son of John de Brauncewell in the same; 4½ bovates held by the Templars of Bruer' in frank almoin of the gift of the said John's ancestors; and 10 ½ bovates in Bloxham held by the prior of Haverholm of the fee of Baiocis. And the same John holds the said lands &c. of the heirs of the said Stephen by service of 1 knight's fee.
Bloxbam. 3 bovates land held by Roger Aleyn of Bloxham in the same, of the said John de Brauncewell by service of 1/15 knight's fee, and by him of the said heirs; 4 bovates held by Thomas de Iwardeby of the said John by service of 1/12 knight's fee, and by him of the said heirs.
Rokesham. A capital messuage and 22 bovates land, held by the heirs of Peter de Goushill; and 2 bovates, by the vicar of Levesingham, of the gift of the said Peter's ancestors; and the said Peter's heirs hold the same of the heirs of the said Stephen by service of ½ knight's fee.

Writ of venire facias to the sheriff of Essex, the king having assigned Ralph de Hengham to enquire whether the wardship of the said Henry's lands and heir ought to pertain to Queen Eleanor the king's mother or to the prior of the hospital of St. John of. Jerusalem in England, 10 June, 16 Edw. I.

Renham. A messuage and 40a. land held of the aforesaid prior by service of 25s. yearly and foreign service, viz.—scutage; and the said tenement was held of one Gilbert de Veer, who gave the said homage and service to the Hospitallers.

691. William de Radenore alias de Radenouere.
Writ to the guardian of the bishopric of Landaff and the sheriff of Hereford, on the complaint of Hugh de Ploufeld, nephew and heir of the said William, that the escheator had ejected the said Master William from a messuage, land, and rent in Arcleteston which William late bishop of Landaff had held of him at will, 4 Nov. 16 Edw. I.
Hereford. Inq. Saturday before St. Thomas the Apostle, 17 Edw. I. (defective.)
Arkleston. A messuage, 1 carucate land, and 30s. rent were delivered by the said Master William to the said bishop by a convention made between them, for the life of the said William, rendering yearly to the said William 20 marks sterling for his life, and after his death the said bishop to find two chaplains at Landaff celebrating for the soul of the said William and of Master Simon de Radenouer his brother, and on the day of the death of the said Master William and Simon 5 marks for ever for the said tenement. The bishop died before the said William, who, because the convention was not observed, forthwith entered the said tenement, and was in peaceful seisin for three weeks, until the escheator ejected him, and afterwards the guardian of the bishopric in the time of vacancy held it to the king's use. The jury have never heard that the said [bishop?] was enfeoffed by charter to hold to him, his church, and successors.
[Hugh] de Ploufeld is his next heir.
