Little Brynton and Neubotle. 13l. 12s. 5d. from certain tenants, held of the inheritance of Idonea his wife, who is aged 22; which tenement William sometime earl of Ferars gave to John de Veypunt in free marriage with his daughter, and the heirs of the same John still hold it without any service. He held nothing else in the county.

Spertegrave. The manor (extent given) with the advowson of the church, held of the heirs of Sir John de Bruwes, and it is in the king's wardship, by service of 1 knight's fee, whereof William le Warey and Adam de la Rokele hold an eighth part of the said Hugh, doing suit at his court of Spertegrave; and 2 hides land held of the heirs of Sir William de Fortibus, doing suit at their court of Shepton Malet, and by service of ¼ knight's fee. Rogate. A hamlet (extent given) held of Sir John de Boun, knight, by service of ½ knight's fee.
Raketon. 28s. rent held of the said Sir John by the said service.
Ertham. 28s. 5d. rent of free tenants, 73s. 10¾d. customs &c. and a windmill put to farm this year for 30s., held of the said Sir John by service of two parts of 1 knight's fee. He held nothing of the king in the county.
He died on Monday before the Annunciation last. Ralph his son, aged 22 between the feasts of the Assumption and the Nativity of Mary, 11 Edw. 1., is his next heir.

Agatha, late the wife of John de Orlaweston, brother of the deceased, holds in dower at Roking, 9a. 1r. marsh, 8a. land held in gavelkind, 3a. of worn-out land, 2a. meadow and 1a. wood.
He died on Thursday, the feast of St. Martin last, at daybreak. John, his son, aged 30 at the feast of All Saints, 11 Edw. I., is his next heir.

Buckingham. Extent, Thursday after the Decollation of St. John the Baptist, 12 Edw. I. (defaced.)
A serjeanty, held of the king in chief, of finding two serjeant ushers at the king's exchequer, and he took for every day whilst the exchequer was open 5d. of the king, and it is worth 4l. 20d. yearly as estimated; and he
found all the green wax for the seal of the exchequer, and received for each writ sealed 1d., and it is worth 100s. yearly as estimated; also he caused the summonses and writs of the exchequer to be carried throughout England and received for each day (in going?) 3d. (?) and in returning nothing, and it is worth 20s. as estimated; and he had cloth of the exchequer for robes for his messengers once a year; he also found four serjeant criers in the bench, and received from them yearly for his fee 63s. 4d.; also he found one serjeant at the exchequer of the Jews, and received from him yearly for his fee 26s. 8d.; and he found in each eyre of the justices two serjeant criers and ushers, and it is worth 25l. for each eyre, sum 50l.
[Oxford.] Little Abefeld. A messuage, 161½a. arable, 16a. wood, 47s. 8½d. yearly rent, works &c. held of the king in chief for ½ knight's fee, pertaining to the said serjeanty.
Great Abefeld. A third part of the capital messuage, and 127a. arable held of the abbot of Abendone; and two parts of the capital messuage, 413½a. arable, 2a. meadow, 12a. wood, and 36s. 9d. rent of assize, held of Sir Alan son of Roald.
[Unspecified.] ½ knight's fee held as mesne of the earl of Cornwall receiving from the tenants 22s. rent of assize.
[Buckingham.] Hameldene. 7a. pasture, 4l. 10s. 6d. rent of assize, and pleas of court &c. held of the said earl.
[Unspecified.] 26s. 10d. rent of assize, 6,000 tiles, and 3qr. of salt (?), held of the bishop of Lincoln.
Abefeld. 5lb. cummin rent of assize.
Sum of the whole, excepting the serjeanty in eyre, 38l. 6s. 11d.; whereof Lady Lora sometime the wife of Sir Roger de Scaccario holds in dower, in messuage, lands, &c. 117s. 11d.; and there are paid to Sir Alan son of Roald 6s., 1lb. pepper price 10d., and 1lb. cummin price 1½d. yearly; to the abbot of Abendone 21s. 6d.; to the bishop of Lincoln 10s.; to the earl of Cornwall 4l. 7s. 2d.; to a certain nun of Marcgate, sister of the said Laurence, 7s.; and to Sir Robert Malet 18d.
Simon his son, aged 15 on Tuesday before St. Peter in Ca(thedra) 12 Edw. I., is his next heir.
Essex. Extent (undated).
Tuynstede. The manor (extent given) jointly acquired by the said Laurence and Gunnora his wife who survives, to them and their heirs; viz.—the capital messuage and 3r. land held of Hugh le Despencer by service of 1d. yearly; 67a. land held of John Maudwyt of Pentelawe by homage and scutage when it shall come; 20a. land held of William de Barentyn as one of the heirs of Blauncmoster by service of 7s. 3d.; 12a. land held of Ran(ulph) de Monte Caniso by service of 6d.; 18a. land held of Nicholas de Reshey by service of 18d.; 5a. land held of Adam Galand by service of 5d.; 2½a. land held of John de Vascul, paying nothing yearly because it was exchanged for other land; and 1½a. land for which he found a lamp in the church of Tuynstede.

Suffolk. Great Cornerth, Little Cornerth, Bures, Asinton, Leleseye, and Grotene. 72s. rent pertaining to the said manor of Tuynsted.

Writ to the escheator to assign her dower to Gunnora, late the wife of the said Laurence, having taken her oath not to marry without the king's licence, 6 May, 12 Edw. I.
Assignment of dower (undated) to the said Gunnora, viz.—out of the abovesaid lands &c. in Abbefeld and Hamilden. The escheator leaves it to the discretion of the court whether assignment of dower shall be made of the said serjeanty; and at the instance of the queen consort the manor of Twynsted was delivered to the said Gunnora.
Letter to Sir W. de Hamelton. The writer has sent him an inquisition made upon a certain land which the king proposes to give to Sir Richard de Bosco, and commands him to show the same to the king.

Northburi. The manor (extent given) whereof he died seised jointly with Ingareta his wife of the gift of Ralph le Botiler and Maud his wife by fine made in the king's court, 9 Edw. I., doing scutage when it runs to the earl of Warwick as much as pertains to ½ knight's fee. He held nothing of the king in chief in that county.

The manor held of divers lords, viz.—the capital mansion, 2 gardens, 2 water-mills, 12a. meadow, 12a. arable, 2s. 6d. rent of free men, 4 cottages, and 3 messuages of villeins, held of the fee of the honour of Leyc(ester) by free service of ½ knight's fee, doing scutage when it runs to the earl of Leyc(ester); a messuage, 2 gardens, 126a. land, 6a. meadow, ten villeins holding 10 virgates and rendering 5 marks, 11s. 4d. yearly, a service with two arrows, 5s. from three freemen, 7s. 6d. from six cottars, 2 marks tallage &c. held of the fee of the abbot of Evesham by service of 6 marks for the whole, and 1d. for 4a. of them to Hugh Agulun; 7 virgates land with a messuage, 3½ virgates without a messuage, 19 cottages, 6s. 6d. from freemen, and a park with two groves, held of the fee of the abbot of Bordisle, rendering 5s. yearly for redemption of housebote which the abbot used to have pertaining to his manor of Budiford; and 20d. rent from a mill of the fee of Warwick.
Kingesbrome. 15s. from three free tenants, and 1½ virgate land, held of Simon le Chamberleyng doing scutage when it runs; and a free fishery worth 5s. yearly.
Salop. Dodinton. The manor and Lopinton, held of the king in chief of the barony of Wemme.

Writ of certiorari to the sheriff of Wilts, on the complaint of Thomas de Sancto Omero that Queen Eleanor's steward of the New Forest had ejected him from the wardship of the land and heir of the said William, who held of him by knight's service, 18 April, 12 Edw. I.
Wilts. Inq. Saturday the eve of St. Barnabas, 12 Edw. I.
Brensaghe. He held nothing of the king or of Queen Eleanor the king's consort in the town of Brensaghe, but held what he held there in socage of Sir Thomas de Sancto Omero, rendering ½ mark of silver yearly.
[Southampton.] He held one croft of the king in the New Forest, rendering 15s. 6d. yearly.

The grange of Mone. 8 knights' fees, as well in demesne as in lordship.
Karbry. 6½ carucates land, worth nothing now because destroyed by the war of the Irish in Offaly.
Alewyn. 1 carucate land.
Kilkenny. Dyssartmichel, Gurtynsalach and Balylennan townships at le Cumbre, held of the king in chief for 3¼ knights' services when royal service was summoned.
The whole worth 75l. 19s. 5½d., of which Beatrice late the wife of the said William has a third part in dower by the king's writ.

Tipperary. Inq. Friday after the Decollation of St. John the Baptist, 12 Edw. I.
Weiperous in the cantred of Ermonia. 6 knights' fees held of Sir Theobald Butler (Pincerna) for 1½ knight's service, when royal service was summoned, and suit of court at Le Nanath, worth 26l. 13s. 4d., besides a third part which Berta late the wife of William de Marisco the younger holds in dower.
Corkedofeny in the same cantred. 4 fees in demesne, similarly held for 1 knight's service and the like suit of court.
Aryth in the same cantred. 4 fees in demesne held of John Assich for 1½ knight's service, and suit at his court at Kilmore.
Carnmathbeg in the same cantred. 1 carucate land held of the tenement of Nicholas Croc, without service.
Leterath Otheran in the same cantred. 11 carucates land held of the bishop of Killaloe (Laoniense) in demesne for 20s. yearly, worth 104s. 5d. yearly, besides the third part of the said Berta.
Portolethan in the same cantred. 3 carucates land held of the heirs of Adam Daundun in demesne, without service.

Somerset. Inq. Monday after the Translation of St. Swithin, 12 Edw. I.
Londay Island. Held of the king in chief for 1/10 knight's fee.
Hunespil. A messuage, garden, 90½a. arable, 20a. meadow, 8½a. in a certain moor, occasionally arable on account of inundation, 4l. 7s. 2d. rent of free men, 65s. 8d. rent of villeins, and works of villeins worth 66s. 4d., held of John de Cogan by service of ½ knight's fee and 1/30 of a greater fee.
Camelegh. The manor was in the seisin of John, son and heir of the said William, by the said William's charter two years before his death, and is held of Alexander de Alneto for ½ knight's fee.

Salop. Extent, Tuesday the morrow of St. Valentine, 12 Edw. I.
Hodenet. The manor, except the advowson of the church (extent given), held of the king in chief by service of being steward of Montgomery at the charges of the lord of that liberty, with 5 horses, 4 greyhounds, and 6 brachets, having a fitting house in the castle for himself and his wife with one maid (domicilla) and his household (familia), whilst it shall please the lord of that liberty and no longer; and when he shall remain there at his own will he shall render his account and withdraw.
Moston. 1 carucate land and a mill, held of Philip de Marmyun for 1/10 knight's fee.
Westburi. A messuage and garden, 4 carucates land, 6s. 8d. rent of assize, a wood worth 2s., a water-mill worth 6s. 8d., and pleas &c. worth 13s. 4d., held of Peter Corbet by service of 1 knight's fee.
Whelbeche. A messuage, 2 carucates land, a mill worth 10s., and pleas &c. worth 2s., held of Fulk son of Warin, by service of 1/20 knight's fee.

Sussex. Extent, Wednesday before St. Edmund the archbishop, 12 Edw. I.
Midhurst. The manor (full extent given), including 36s. 8d. rent of assize of the burgesses of Midhurst called 'potteresgavel,' held, with Forde and Rustyntone, of the lords of the castle of Arundell by service of 3 knights' fees.
He died on the eve of St. Michael, 12 Edw. I. John his son, aged 9 at Whitsunday in that year, is his next heir.
Sussex. Extent. Thursday the day of St. Clement, 13 Edw. I.
Forde. The manor (full extent given), including 30a. meadow at Prestebrok, held of the lords of the castle of Arundell, together with the manor of Midhurst of which it is member, and Rustynton, by service of 3 knights' fees.

Sussex. Extent. Friday the morrow of St. Clement, 13 Edw. I.
Shottesden. 20s. rent, which Savericus de Boun and Isabel his wife hold of the gift of John de Boun, held of the king in chief, service unknown.
Rustingthon. The manor, a member of Midhurst manor (full extent given), including 73s. 10d. rent for the meadows of Prestebrok and for the north brook (pro broka borial'), and 13a. land called Geresheker, held with Forde and Midhurst, as abovesaid.

Nytimbre. The manor, held of Sir William le Say, by service of ½ knight's fee; but the said John was not seised thereof in his demesne as of fee on the day he died, for he and Joan his wife, of whose inheritance the manor was, enfeoffed John de Bockynge and Alice his wife thereof for their lives by fine made in the king's court, and they had ingress on Wednesday before the Invention of the Holy Cross, 10 Edw. I.

Writ of certiorari concerning the manner of the feoffment which the said John made to Gregory de Rokesle of the manor of Rustenton, 22 Oct. 12 Edw. I.

Rustyntone. The manor was delivered by the said John to Gregory de Rokesle to farm at Whitsunday, 11 Edw. I. for twelve years from the feast of St. Michael following, excepting the lands &c. which he held of Savericus de Boun for life, and afterwards at the feast of St. Peter ad Vincula following he made his charter to the said Gregory of the said manor for life after the said twelve years for 100l. yearly, saving the lands held of the said Savericus. And afterwards the said John
made to the bishop of Durham his charter of the said manor to him and his heirs and assigns in fee, doing the accustomed services to the lords of the fee, and of the abovesaid 100l. yearly ; and afterwards the said Gregory resigned to the said bishop his charter of feoffment on Tuesday after SS. Peter and Paul, 12 Edw. I., saving to himself his said term of twelve years.
He died on the eve of St. Michael at the end of 12 Edw. I.

She died on Thursday the feast of St. Katherine, 12 Edw. I.
Hawis her sister, late the wife of Baldwin Wake, is her next heir, and of full age.
Hertford. Extent, Friday before St. Vincent, 12 Edw. I. (defective.)
Ware. The manor (extent given), held of Sir William [de Ferr] ar[iis] by service of ½ mark yearly, for Margaret countess of Fer[rars], mother of the said William, gave him the manor of Groby to which the manor of Ware pertains.
