1492. 7 Kal. June. (26 May.) St. Peter's, Rome. (f. 233r.)	Monition, etc., as below. Lately, on the voidance of the monastery of Scone, O.S.A., in the diocese of St. Andrews, by the death extra Romanam curiam of abbot John, during whose life it had been specially reserved by the present pope, the pope made provision thereof to David Lermouth, [now] abbot, then a canon of the said monastery, professed of the said order. The pope has learned, however, that Henry, abbot of Cambuskyneth, of the said order and diocese, has intruded himself in the said monastery of Scone, is still detaining possession, and is preventing the said David from obtaining possession, with the aid of divers others, especially James Arbitru(m)by, (fn. 2) priest, and James Trerthcou(n)e (fn. 3) [sic], layman and knight. The pope, therefore, hereby monishes and orders, motu proprio, the said Henry, James and James, etc., within six days from the exhibition of the letters of the said provision, to desist from the said intrusion and detention, etc., give up possession to the said David or his proctor, and make satisfaction for fruits taken, etc., under pain of interdict and excommunication, deprivation of benefices, etc.; with mandate executory hereby to the bishop of Whiteherne (Candida casa), the abbot of Inchcolm (Insula sancte [sic] Columbe), in the diocese of Dunkeld, and the archdeacon of St. Andrews.
