1478[–9]. 15 Kal. Feb. (18 Jan.) St. Peter's, Rome. (f. 24v.)	To John Achinson, abbot of St. Mary's Newebotill, O. Cist., in the diocese of St. Andrews. Provision of the said monastery, to which, on its voidance by the death of John Crethon extra R.c. (during whose lifetime it was specially reserved by the pope) he, then a monk thereof and in priest's orders, was de facto elected by the convent, perhaps in ignorance of the said reservation, to which election he, likewise ignorant, gave his consent, also de facto, and had it confirmed, likewise de facto and in like ignorance, by Richard, abbot of Melros, of the said order, in the diocese of Glasgow, the father-abbot of St. Mary's, and, upon learning the said reservation, has caused the foregoing to be set forth in consistory before the pope. Provision to him, dean of Exeter, doctor of decrees, of noble birth, of lawful age, and in priest's orders, of the said church, void by the death of John extra R. c., during whose lifetime it was specially reserved by the pope. Apostolatus officium.

Faculty for him, to whom the pope has recently made provision of the above church, to be consecrated by any catholic bishop of his choice in communion with the apostolic see, assisted by two or three like bishops; with the form of oath (Ego Petrus electus Exoniensis etc.) which he is to take to the consecrating bishop, and which he is to send to the pope by his letters patent sealed with his seal. 3 Kal. Nov. (30 Oct.) St. Peter's, Rome. (f. 48v.)	To John Morton, priest, of the diocese of Salisbury, doctor of laws. Absolution (the pope intending to make provision to him this day of the church of Exeter), from all sentences of excommunication, etc., so far only as regards the said provision etc. taking effect. 1479. Non. April. (5 April.) St. Peter's, Rome. (f. 123v.)	To the bishop of Aberdeen. Mandate, as below. The recent petition of Matthew Primgill [sic], clerk, of the diocese of St. Andrews, contained that on the voidance of the perpetual vicarage of Locohvart in the said diocese by the resignation of Thomas Eduin (?) to the then vicar-general in spirituals of William archbishop of St. Andrews, the said vicar[-general] made de facto collation and provision thereof to the said Matthew, who was under sentence of excommunication, and who took possession, and still detains it, taking the fruits, although few, likewise de facto. The said collation and provision being therefore without force, and the said vicarage still void as above, the pope hereby orders the above bishop to absolve the said Matthew from the said sentence, enjoining a salutary penance, and rehabilitate him and in that event to collate and assign to him, the said vicarage, value 8l. sterling, but before he proceeds to execute these presents the said Matthew is to resign. 1478[–9]. 3 Id. Feb. (11 Feb.) St. Peter's, Rome. (f. 203v.)	To the prior of St. John Baptist's by le Naenach, in the diocese of Killaloe. Mandate, as below. The pope has been informed by Maurus Miccasyn, priest, of the diocese of Killaloe, that Rory Olachnayn, prior of Lorrha (Fontis vivi de Lothro [sic]), O.S.A., in the said diocese, has alienated a chalice and other precious moveable goods of the said priory, and has allowed its immoveable goods to be lost. The pope therefore orders the above prior of St. John's, if the said Maurus (who was lately dispensed by papal authority on account of illegitimacy, as the son of unmarried parents, to be promoted to all holy orders and hold a benefice even with cure) will accuse the said Rory before the said prior of St. John's, to summon him, and if he find the foregoing to be true, to deprive and remove him, and in that event to cause the said Maurus to be received as a canon of the said monastery and the regular habit to be given to him, receive his profession, and collate and assign to him the said priory, conventual and dependent on no other monastery or regular place, and value 24 marks sterling. 1479. 17 Kal. May. (15 April.) St. Peter's, Rome. (f. 246v.)	To the prior of In[i]scronayn in the diocese of illaloe, and Donatus Ograda and John [son] of Thady (Tatey, i.e. Tatie) Machonmara, canons of Killaloe. Mandate to collate and assign to Brandan Oliga, priest, of the diocese of Kilmacduagh (Duacen.), the treasurership of Kilmacduagh, which is a non-major dignity, and the perpetual vicarage of Kilkide in the diocese of Killaloe, value not exceeding 8 and 10 marks sterling, respectively, so long void that there is no certain knowledge of the way of their voidance, and that their collation has lapsed to the apostolic see, although John Odonchw (from fear of whose power the said Brandan dares not meet him within the city and diocese of Kilmacduagh) has detained possession of the said treasurership for between two and three years under pretext of a collation which was made to him by authority of the ordinary after the said lapse, and which is therefore null, and although Malachy Omellayn, priest, has detained possession of the said vicarage for between eight and ten years without any title or right; the said John and Malachy being summoned and removed. 1478[–9]. rid. Kal. Feb. (31 Jan.) St. Peter's, Rome. (f. 254v.)	To the prior of St. John Baptist's by le Naenach, in the diocese of Killaloe. Mandate, the pope having learned that the deanery of Limerick, a major dignity, value 60 marks sterling, has been so long void that its collation has lapsed to the apostolic see, to collate and assign it to Melerus de Burgo, clerk, of the diocese of Limerick, who alleges that he is of noble birth and that Thomas Oronayn and Dermit Machmahma [sic], priests, of the said diocese, both claiming it, molest one another, and have for three years usurped its fruits etc. without title, and that he has no hope of obtaining justice in the city and diocese of Limerick; the said Thomas and Dermit being summoned and removed.
