1481. 6 Id. June. (8 June.) St. Peter's, Rome. (f. 24r.)	To the bishop of Coventry and Lichfield and the abbot of St. Werbu[r]gh's in the diocese of Lichfield. Mandate (the pope having learned that the commonalties of divers towns and a number of individual persons in the archdeaconry of Chester, etc., (fn. 1) refuse to pay to the archdeacon of Chester, the collector and receiver thereof, the annual Peter's penny due from each house to the apostolic Camera), to compel them to pay by ecclesiastical censure, without appeal. Ad audientiam nostram. [1½ pp.]
1481. Id. May. (15 May.) St. Peter's, Rome. (f. 105v.)	To the prior of St. John Baptist's, Raynduyn, in the diocese of Elphin, and John Ochonaryg and Thomas Oflannagayn, canons of Elphin. Mandate to collate and assign to Donald Offyacanayg’, priest, of the diocese of Elphin, the perpetual vicarage of Gogelwys in the said diocese, value 4 marks sterling, void so long that there is no certain knowledge of the way of its voidance and that its collation has lapsed to the apostolic see, although Cormac Ohedyan, priest, of the said diocese, who is to be summoned and removed, has detained possession without any title for between four and five years. 3 Kal. Oct. (29 Sept.) Bracciano in the diocese of Sutri. (f. 150r.)	To Richard Lessi, clerk, of the diocese of York. Commutation, at the petition also of Edward, king of England, of his vows to visit the shrines of the Apostles at Rome and also in the Holy Land, and the Lord's Sepulchre, into a sum of 100 gold ducats of the Camera, which he has paid to the pope's datary in aid of the Crusade and in aid of the fleet which with a great number of triremes the pope has prepared against the Turks; with dispensation and absolution from the said vows. Id. May. (15 May.) St. Peter's, Rome. (f. 292r.)	To Thomas Barry, and William and Donatus Omurku, canons of Cloyne. (fn. 1) Mandate, as below. The pope has been informed by John Omurku, priest, of the diocese of Ardfert, that provision was formerly made by papal authority to Donald Oscolay, clerk, of the said diocese, of the perpetual vicarage of Cuyllynalla in the said diocese; that a cause which arose about it between the said Donald and Donatus Omurku, clerk, of the same diocese, was brought before certain judges-delegate in those parts, and that, whilst it was still pending, Donald made an agreement to the effect that if Donatus would give up possession, he would pay him a certain sum of money, which was done, Donald thereby committing simony. The pope, therefore, hereby orders the above three, if the said John (who was lately dispensed by papal authority on account of illegitimacy, as the son of a priest and an unmarried woman, to be promoted to all, even holy orders and hold a benefice even with cure, after which he was so promoted, and who cannot safely meet Donald within the city or diocese of Ardfert) will accuse Donald before them, to summon him, and if they find the foregoing to be true, to deprive and remove him, and in that event to collate and assign the said vicarage, value 8 marks sterling, to John, whom the pope hereby dispenses to resign or exchange it, when he pleases, etc. Vite etc. (In the margin: Maij.)
