To the bishop of Adria, and the priors of the priories of St. John's, [Newtown by] Trym, and St. John's, Athyrde, in the dioceses of Meath and Armagh. Mandate to collate and assign to William Haddesors, priest, of the diocese of Armagh, I.U.B., who is a priest and of noble race, and who lately received papal dispensation, as the son of a married man and an unmarried woman, to be promoted etc. as above, f. 7, the archdeaconry of Armagh, a non-major non-elective dignity with cure, value not exceeding 20 marks, so long void by the death of Maurice Suetman that its collation has lapsed to the apostolic see; notwithstanding that the pope recently ordered provision to be made to him of the parish church of Derver in the diocese of Armagh, value not exceeding 16 marks, with which he is hereby dispensed to hold the said archdeaconry for life, and to resign both, simply or for exchange, as often as he pleases. To the prior of St. Mary's, Eachros, and the prior of Inysgluayr alias de Cros, in the diocese of Killala, and the official of Killala. Mandate to collate and assign to Laurence Obeollayn, canon of Elphin, bachelor of canon law—who lately received papal dispensation, as the son of a married man and an unmarried woman, (i) to be promoted etc. as above, f. 7, (ii) to receive and hold any dignities, major or principal, and to resign them, simply or for exchange, and to receive and hold instead similar or dissimilar benefices, and also to be promoted to any episcopal dignities [above, p. 445]—the provostship of Killala, a non-major elective dignity with cure, value not exceeding 20 marks, void by the resignation to the late Thomas, bishop of Killala, of Charles Ychannichy, removing John Bared, priest, of the diocese of Killala, who, after the said resignation, took possession without title, and has detained it for more than eight years; whether it became void as stated, or because the said John, when holding the deanery of Killala, obtained the provostship, and held both together for some time, or in any other way; notwithstanding that the pope recently [above, p. 436] made provision to Laurence of a canonry with reservation of a prebend and a dignity, not major, personatus, etc. of Elphin, and of a benefice with or without cure [value not here stated], in the common or several gift of the bishop and chapter of Killala, etc. He is hereby dispensed to hold two incompatible benefices for ten years. Collation and provision to him (who is of noble race, and to whom the pope intends to make provision this day of the perpetual vicarage of Kynsall in the diocese of Cork, value not exceeding 40 marks, and to dispense him to hold it for seven years with the deanery of Cork) of the deanery of Cork, a major dignity, value not exceeding 5 marks, his election to which by the chapter, on its voidance by the death of Richard Pellin, is null, the deanery having been reserved in virtue of the pope's late general reservation of all major cathedral dignities; notwithstanding that he holds the chancellorship of Cork, which, upon obtaining the deanery he is, as he has offered, to resign.
