To Nicholas Oheolayn, canon of Kildare. Mandate to collate and assign to Cornelius Oleluhyr, perpetual vicar of Cafleanfeorris (also written Caseleanfeoris and Casleanfeoris) in the diocese of Kildare, the rectory, of the patronage of laymen, value not exceeding 5 marks, of Beleculiam in the said diocese, so long void (because Cornelius Omahaena, who is to be summoned and removed, obtained it when holding the perpetual vicarage of Bolevirleheyg alias Primolth in the same diocese, and held them together for more than a year against Execrabilis, continuing thereafter to detain possession of the said rectory for about five years) that by the Lateran statutes its collation has lapsed to the apostolic see, and reserved under the said constitution. The collation is to be made whether the rectory became void in the way stated, or by the death of William Bahylcot, or in any other way. Cornelius is hereby dispensed to hold together for life the said rectory and vicarage, of which latter the value likewise does not exceed 5 marks. Dignum etc. (Ja. xxviii. Duodecimo Kal. To the abbot of St. Mary's de Petra, Kilmacduagh (Duacen.), the precentor of Ardfert, and Magonius Ohanrachayn, canon of Kilfenora. Mandate to collate and assign to Dermit Okaellaygi, clerk, of the diocese of Killaloe, who lately received papal dispensation, as the son of a priest and an unmarried woman, to be promoted to all, even holy orders and hold a benefice even with cure, the perpetual vicarage, value not exceeding 6 marks, of Cnoc in the said diocese, void because Maurice Okaellegy, when holding it obtained, by collation of the ordinary, a perpetual portion with cure in the church of St. Senan, Inyskaythayg; Maurice Okaellaygy, priest, of the same diocese, who has unduly detained possession of the said vicarage for more than two years, and on account of whose power Dermit has no hope of obtaining justice in the city and diocese of Killaloe, being removed. To William Croyser, M.A., member of the pope's household. Collation and provision to him, who is also a papal acolyte, and ambassador to the pope of Archibald, earl of Douglas, of the parish church of Fedressow in the diocese of St. Andrews, value not exceeding 40l. of old sterlings, void and therefore reserved by the death at the apostolic see of Nicholas Inglis; notwithstanding that he holds the archdeaconry of Teviotdale in Glasgow, a non-major dignity with cure, the subdeanery of Dunkeld, an office without cure (simplex), canonries and prebends in the same churches [of Glasgow and Dunkeld], and, in commendam, the parish church of Kirkgonzan in the diocese of Glasgow, value altogether not exceeding 120l. of old sterlings; that the pope lately ordered provision to be made to him of two benefices with or without cure, even if canonries and prebends and dignities etc., in the common or several gift of the bishops and chapters of St. Andrews and Aberdeen, and dispensed him to hold such two incompatible benefices for life, and to resign them, simply or for exchange, subsequently dispensing him, in the event of his obtaining the perpetual vicarage of the parish church of Enverlithan in the diocese of Glasgow, in virtue of letters [see above, pp. 73, 99] by which the pope had ordered provision to be made to him thereof, to hold it and the above archdeaconry during the pleasure of the apostolic see, and to resign them, simply or for exchange, after which second dispensation he resigned the said vicarage and all right thereto without having had possession. Upon obtaining possession of Fedressow under these presents the above letters of provision of benefices shall be null as far as regards dignities etc. and as regards benefices etc. with cure. Mandate to collate and assign to Donald Post, priest, of the diocese of St. Andrews, the parish church of Handyngton in the said diocese, value not exceeding 100l. of petits tournois, void by the death of Simon Breg; notwithstanding that provision has lately been made to him by authority of the ordinary of the archpriestship, with cure, value not exceeding 40 marks of silver, of Donbar in the same diocese, of which he has not got possession, and which, if meanwhile he get it, he is to resign upon obtaining under these presents the above church. To the abbots of SS. Peter and Paul's, Clare, and St. Mary's de Petra duacensis, in the dioceses of Killaloe and Kilmacduagh (Duacen.), and the treasurer of Killaloe. Mandate as below. The pope has this day rehabilitated Donatus Odulayg, priest, of the diocese of Killaloe, at his petition containing that formerly, after having had papal dispensation, as the son of a priest and an unmarried woman, to be promoted to all, even holy orders and hold a benefice even with cure, and after receiving provision, by virtue of certain papal letters [see above, p. 236], of the perpetual vicarage of Killanasuleach in the said diocese, which was said to be void by the death of Matthew Micinuercheny, he, seeing himself hindered from obtaining possession by the then occupant of the vicarage, Donald Machayla, priest, of the same diocese, bargained for Donald's giving up possession and receiving for a prescribed period certain tithes and rents from the vicarage, after which he, under pretext of the said letters and provision, took possession and was still detaining it. Seeing that it is asserted by some that the said vicarage (which by the said letters of rehabilitation the pope has required Donatus to resign) became void, not as above, but by the death in the Roman court of Roderick Yolonyrgayn, the pope orders the above to collate and assign it to Donatus, in whatsoever way it became void.
