1424. 16 Kal. March. St. Peter's, Rome. (f. 66.)	To Richard, bishop, formerly of Lincoln, archbishop elect of York (Ricardo (fn. 2)episcopo olim Lincolnicn. in archiepiscopum Eboracen. electo.). Translation from the see of Lincoln to that of York, void by the death of Henry, during whose life it was specially reserved by the pope. Romani pontificis.
	Concurrent letters to the chapter of York, to the clergy and to the people of the city and diocese, to the vassals and to the suffragans of the church of York—Romani etc.; and to Henry, king of England—Gracie divine.
2 Id. April. St. Peter's Rome. (f. 71d.)	To Richard Belmer, elect of Achonry (Akaden.). Provision to him, a Friar Preacher, S.T.B., priest, of the said see, void by the death of Donatus, during whose life the pope specially reserved it. Apostolatus etc.

To John [d'Ungelles, as above, p. 33 note], Benedictine abbot of St. Peter's, Luxeuil (de Luxouio), immediately subject to the Roman church, in the diocese of Besançon. Provision to him, prior of the Cluniac priory of la Charité in the diocese of Auxerre, S.T.M., priest, of the above abbey, which became void by the death of Étienne [Pierrexi, as ibid.], during whose life the pope had specially reserved it, and upon whose death the convent, perhaps in ignorance of the reservation, elected as abbot Guy de Insula, a monk of the same, who, perhaps also in ignorance, consented thereto and who subsequently caused the matter of the election to be set forth in consistory before the pope, who hereby holds it null. He is to wear the habit worn in St. Peter's. Inter solicitudines.

2 Id. April. SS. Apostoli, Rome. (f. 91d.)	To Patrick, Augustinian abbot of Holyrood, Edenburch, in the diocese of St. Andrews. Provision to him, prior of St. Mary's Isle (Insula Beate Marie), of the said order, in the diocese of Whiteherne, priest, of the said abbey, void by the resignation to bishop Henry, of Henry, now canon, then abbot thereof, during whose abbotship it was specially reserved by the pope. Summi disposicioni rectoris.
	Concurrent letters to the convent and to the vassals of Holyrood, and to the bishop of St. Andrews—Summi etc.; and to James, king of Scots—Gracie etc.
Id. April. St. Peter's, Rome. (f. 127.)	To the bishop of Aberdeen. Mandate as below. On the death of Robert, abbot of the Cistercian abbey of Der in the diocese of Aberdeen, during whose life the pope specially reserved it, the pope made provision thereof to William Belle, now monk of the same. Meanwhile, as the recent petition of Andrew de Tyry, monk of Der, contained, the convent, perhaps in ignorance of the said reservation, elected him, who is a priest and who, likewise ignorant, consented to the election, obtained its confirmation, in accordance with ancient custom, by William, abbot of Kynloss in the diocese of Moray, the father abbot of Der, and had himself blessed by the above bishop, under pretext of which he has obtained possession. Seeing that the said William did not cause his letters of provision to be expedited within the due period, so that the above provision to him is null, the pope, considering the said election and confirmation etc. to be also null, and not having certain knowledge as to the alleged merits of the said Andrew, orders the above bishop to summon William and others concerned, and if he find the monastery, the value of whose abbatial mensa does not exceed 100l. sterling, to be void as above or otherwise, and if he find Andrew to be fit, to make provision to him. Before taking possession of the administration Andrew is to take to the above bishop the usual oath of fealty to the pope. Ad ea ex apostolice seruitutis.
2 Id. Aug. Galicano. (f. 181d.)	To Donald, Augustinian abbot of St. Mary's de Petra, Kilmacduagh (Duacen.). Grant, at his petition (containing that on the voidance of the above abbey, whose value does not exceed 12 marks, by the death of Nicholas, the convent elected him, then a canon thereof, in priest's orders, that he consented to the election and had it confirmed, in accordance with ancient custom, by William, Augustinian abbot of St. Mary's, Cong (de Ciriga), in the diocese of Tuam, the father abbot of Petra, had himself duly blessed, and took possession of the administration), that the said election and confirmation shall hold good from the present date, as if the provision of the abbey had not been specially or generally reserved.
