To John Were, bachelor of canon law. Collation and provision to him, who says he is of royal blood and a kinsman of Robert, governor of the realm of Scotland, and of Archibald earl of Douglas, of a canonry of Glasgow, with reservation of a prebend and dignity etc. and of a benefice with or without cure, wont to be assigned to secular clerks, even if a dignity etc., value not exceeding 25 marks sterling if it have cure or be a dignity etc., or 18 if not, in the gift of the bishop and the prior and chapter of St. Andrews; notwithstanding that he holds the parish church of Line in the diocese of Glasgow, value not exceeding 20 marks of old sterlings, together with which he is hereby dispensed to hold such dignity etc. for seven years, during which he is to exchange one of them for a benefice compatible with the other, etc. Nobilitas generis, litterarum etc. |
