Mandate to assign to Anthony de Baldinotis [of Pistoia, as on f. 279d], D.C.L., member of the pope's household, in recognition of his services, past and present, as a faithful and diligent servant of the pope and the apostolic see, the sum of 333 gold florins of the camera, and 16s. 8d. of Roman money, from money collected by the above bishop for the camera, or from tenth or equivalent charitative subsidy in England. To patriarchs etc. and other prelates, and other clergy, secular and regular, dukes etc., in the realm of England and other realms, parts and places subject to king Henry, and elsewhere soever. Requesting and exhorting them—on the occasion of the mission of Marinus Minutolus, donsel, of Naples, marshal of the Roman court, the pope's nephew, Bartholomew, bishop of Pesaro, and Augustine Dellante (cf. f. 65), doctor of canon and civil law, of Pisa (Pisanum), advocate of the papal consistory, whom the pope is sending as nuncios to the above and other parts to implore aid against Ladizlaus, king of Sicily (i.e. Naples), and for the furtherance of the General Council which is to be held at Constance on 1 Nov. next—to give liberal aid to the pope, the Roman church and the papal camera. The said bishop will receive their gifts and has hereby faculty to give receipt. The pope also requests safe-conduct for the above three nuncios and their retinues. Arbitramur indubie. (De curia. Commission to preach by himself or others, in England and other realms and places subject to king Henry, and in neighbouring parts, the crusade against Ladizlaus, king of Sicily (i.e. Naples), for the recovery of the city of Rome and other parts seized by him. The pope grants to those who take the Cross and take part in the above crusade for a month in person and at their own expense, and to others who help in a less degree, the indulgence wont to be granted to Holy Land crusaders. 15 Kal. Aug. Bologna. (f. 158d.)	To Bartholomew, bishop of Pesaro, and Master Paul de Caputgrassis of Sulmona, doctor of canon law, collector to the camera in England, papal nuncios. Mandate—seeing that the latter, whom the pope has lately appointed collector to the camera in England, has, in virtue of the powers conferred upon him at his appointment, notified Marcellus de Strociis of Florence, D.C.L., his immediate predecessor in the office of collector in England, to render an account of his administration as collector, and has ordered him not to leave England before doing so, which account Marcellus on frivolous pretexts has refused to render—to check (discutiatis) with Marcellus his accounts and administration, allow his lawful expenses, and approve or disapprove his accounts, in order to bring the matter to an end. The pope hereby gives the nuncios faculty to compel Marcellus by censure, sequestration and sale of his goods, invoking the aid of the secular arm, and to recover the amount due and give a receipt. If Marcellus will give surety in the sum of ten thousand florins to appear in person in the papal camera within a certain period, show his accounts and pay what he owes, they are to release him from his state of arrest; if not, they are to have him sent under safe custody, at his own expense, to the pope.
