Mandate—in pursuance of other letters by which the pope has ordered them, if they find, as he has recently heard, that John Tathe, rector of Castel Ricard in the diocese of Meath, of lay patronage, does not understand well nor speak intelligibly the language (ydioma) commonly spoken by the greater part of the parishioners, to deprive him—in the event of such deprivation to collate and assign the said rectory, value not exceeding 20 marks, to Donald Magluay, priest, of the said diocese; notwithstanding that the pope has recently ordered provision to be made to him of the parish church, value not exceeding 80 marks, of Rathwere in the said diocese, possession of which he has not yet got, and of one, two, three, four or more benefices with or without cure in the common or several gift of the bishop of Meath, the abbot and convent of St. Thomas the Martyr's by Dublin, and the priors and convents of (de) Lantony Primi in Wales and Lantony Secundi by Gloucester.
