6 Pius II.

De Beneficiis Vacantibus.

6 Kal. Dec.
(26 Nov.)
St. Peter's, Rome.
(f. 61d.)
To Odo Ohedersgeoyl, William Ogylagymayn and John Olaegare, canons of Ross. Mandate to collate and assign to Donatus Odonamayn, a canon of Ross (who states that he obtained by canonical collation the perpetual vicarage of the parish church de Dedisciritcruym (rectius church de Disciritcruym) in the diocese of Ross, and held possession for more than a year without having himself ordained priest and without dispensation, taking the fruits therefrom, but less than 2 marks sterling, which vicarage he afterwards resigned) the rectory of the parish church of Kylmiyn in the said diocese of Ross, value not exceeding 6 marks sterling, void because Donatus Odonamayn, who is to be summoned and removed, when holding the archdeaconry of Ross, obtained the said rectory, canonically collated to him, and has held it thenceforth for more than a month together with the archdeaconry, which has cure, without dispensation, against ‘Execrabilis,' and still unduly detains possession; notwithstanding that Donatus holds a canonry of Ross and the prebend of Chorocroynhun therein, value not exceeding 2 gold ducats of the camera. Vite etc. (P. and G. Gonne. | P. xxx. Tertio Non. Decembris Anno Sexto. de Varris.) [3¼ pp.]

(24 Sept.)
St. Peter's, Rome.
(f. 88d.)
To the bishop and the dean of Killaloe (Laonien.), and the prior of the secular and collegiate church of Iniskayg in the diocese of Killaloe. Mandate, as below. The pope lately (upon its being set forth to him on behalf of the late Odo [son] of James Macconmara, sometime treasurer of Killaloe. that on account of the abundance of the fruits etc. of the rectory of the parish church of Bunrate called Tradrayd in the said diocese, of the patronage of laymen, the late Donatus bishop of Killaloe had divided it into two parts, and had newly created (fn. 2) in it a second (alteram) rectory, and had united to the treasurership of Killaloe, on account of the slenderness of its fruits etc., the said created rectory together with a certain part of the said fruits etc., for the lifetime of the said Odo) ordered certain judges (not here named) to unite and appropriate the said newly created rectory (fn. 3) to the said treasurership, together with all its rights and appurtenances, in perpetuity. The recent petition of Dermit Macgyllapadryg, clerk, of the diocese of Killaloe, containing that the said Odo died at the apostolic see before execution of the said letters was proceeded to, wherefore the said union and appropriation are eo ipso dissolved, and that the said newly created rectory (fn. 4) is still void, the pope hereby orders the above three to collate and assign the said newly created rectory, (fn. 5) with cure and value not exceeding 22 marks sterling, to Dermit, who was lately dispensed by papal authority, on account of illegitimacy as the son of an abbot of the order of St. Augustine and an unmarried woman, to be promoted to all even holy orders and hold a benefice even with cure, and whom the pope has, by the tenour of other letters of his (ordering provision to be made to him of a canonry of Killaloe and the prebend of Cluoindagat therein, and of the rectory without cure (simplici) of ecclesiastical fee in the parish church of Drunteleyb (recte Drumcleyb) in the said diocese, the value of all which does not exceed 17 marks sterling), dispensed to receive and retain the said canonry and prebend and rectory. He is hereby dispensed to receive the said newly created rectory (fn. 6), and retain it together with the said canonry and prebend and rectory without cure (simplici), notwithstanding the said defect etc. Vite etc. (P. and M. Amici. | P. xxvi. Pridie Non. Octobris Anno Sexto. de Varris.) [4 pp. See above, p. 195.]
