1462. 4 Kal. Aug. (29 July.) Abbadia di San Salvatore in the diocese of Chiusi. (f. 52.) |
To the official of Lismore. Mandate to collate and assign to Donatus Macconmara, clerk, of the diocese of Lismore (who lately, notwithstanding his illegitimacy as the son of unmarried parents, had himself made a clerk, and who is in his eleventh year) a canonry of Lismore and the prebend of Sesghynayn therein, value not exceeding 1½ marks sterling, so long void by the death of Donald Maccraych that by the Lateran statutes their collation has lapsed to the apostolic see; summoning and removing Donald Osactnayn, priest, of the said diocese of Lismore, who, under pretext of a collation made to him by authority of the ordinary after the said lapse, has unduly detained possession for three years; notwithstanding the pope's late ordinance that provisions or grants or mandates to make provision of canonries and prebends of cathedral churches, made in favour of persons below their fourteenth year, should be null, unless they had a special grant to the contrary. Donatus is therefore dispensed hereby to receive and retain them, notwithstanding the said defects of birth and age, etc. Dignum arbitramur. (P. and M. Amici. | P. xxvi.Undecimo Kal. Septembris Anno Quarto. de Varris.) [3¾ pp.] |
6 Id. July. (10 July.) Abbadia di San Salvatore in the diocese of Chiusi. (f. 54.) |
To the abbot of Fermoy (de Castro dei) in the diocese of Cloyne (Clonen.). Mandate to collate and assign to Rory Macco[n]mara, clerk, of the diocese of Lismore, it found fit, a canonry of Cloyne and the prebend of Cuilcholling and Brechwey therein, value not exceeding 3 marks sterling, void and reserved by the promotion, made by the present pope, of John bishop of Ardfert to that church, and by the consecration which, by reason of a lawful impediment, was administered to him more than three years after the said promotion; although the bishop of Cloyne (not named), perhaps ignorant of the said reservation and of the pope's general decree reserving benefices void by promotion to the episcopate, has presumed to dispose of the said canonry and prebend. Dignum etc. (P. and Jo. de Millinis. | P.xx. Duodecimo Kal. Septembris Anno Quarto. de Varris.) [2⅓ pp.] |
3 Id. July. (13 July.) Abbadia di San Salvatore in the diocese of Chiusi. (f. 133.) |
To abbot of Molana (de Insula sancti Molanfyd) in the diocese of Lismore. Mandate (the pope having been informed by William Wynscydayne, clerk, of the diocese of Lismore, that Robert (Robardus) Freyn, a canon of Lismore, being for more than three years under sentence of excommunication and publicly proclaimed excommunicate, has taken part in divine offices, even in contempt of the Keys, thereby incurring irregularity, and has dilapidated etc. the goods of his canonry of Lismore and prebend of Kilbarrymedy therein, to the shame of the clerical order) if and after William accuses Robert before the above abbot, to summon Robert and others concerned, and if he find the foregoing to be true, to deprive and remove Robert, and in that event to collate and assign the canonry and prebend, value not exceeding 6 marks sterling, to William. Dignum etc. (Her. and M.Amici. | Her. xx. Quinto Id. Augusti Anno Quarto. [de Monasterio], pro magistris Registri.) [3⅓ pp.] |
19 Kal. Sept. (14 Aug.) Pienza. (f. 134d.) |
To the archdeacon of Cloyne (Clonen.). Mandate to collate and assign to John Occanyff, perpetual vicar of the [parish] church of Homylachdrynyn in the diocese of Limerick, a canonry of Cashel and the prebend of Kilhariri therein, value not exceeding 5 marks sterling, so long void by the death of John Flemyng that by the Lateran statutes its collation has lapsed to the apostolic see, although William Omulrony, priest, of the diocese of Cashel, who is to be summoned and removed, has unduly detained possession for three years, under pretext of a collation and provision made to him by authority of the ordinary after the said lapse, and from fear of whose power John cannot safely meet him in the city or diocese of Cashel; notwithstanding that John holds the said vicarage of Hymylachdrynyn (sic), value not exceeding 1 mark sterling. Dignum etc. (Her. and M. Amici. | Her. xxx. Duodecimo Kal.Septembris Anno Quarto. [de Monasterio], pro magistris Registri.) [3½ pp.] |
6 Id. July. (10 July.) Abbadia di San Salvatore in the diocese of Chiusi. (f. 146d.) |
To the official of Raphoe. Mandate (the pope having been informed by Bernard Magundsy(n)na, clerk, of the diocese of Armagh, that Nemeas Maglacosgli, a canon of Clogher, committed simony, after Martin V and Eugenius IV's renewal of the sentences etc. promulgated by their predecessors against simoniacs, [and their reservation to themselves and their successors of absolution therefrom], thereby incurring the said sentences etc., and has openly kept a concubine, even after lawful monition, and is defamed of these and divers other crimes [not here expressed] in
those parts, to the shame of the priestly dignity) if and after Bernard, who from fear of Nemeas's power has no hope of obtaining justice in the city and diocese of Clogher, accuses Nemeas before the above official, to summon Nemeas and others concerned, and if he find the foregoing to be true, to deprive and remove Nemeas from his said canonry and from the rectory of the parish church of Darebrosg in the diocese of Clogher, which he holds, and in that event to erect the said rectory, value not exceeding 6 marks sterling, into a prebend of Clogher in perpetuity, and to collate and assign such erected prebend and the said canonry to Bernard. Dignum etc. (Her. and M. Amici. | Her. xxiiii.Sexto Id. Novembris Anno Quinto. [de Monasterio], pro Magistris Registri.) [52/3 pp.] |
