(f. 312.)		 To Odo Omachan and Alexander Omurcheu, canons of Achonry (Akaden.). Mandate (the pope having been informed by Donatus Ocluayn, an Augustinian canon of St. John the Evangelist's, Tuam, that William Macserray, abbot of the Augustinian monastery of St. Mary, Asdara, in the diocese of Achonry, has dilapidated etc. and consumed for evil uses the goods thereof, incurred perjury and committed simony with Cornelius Macs(er)ray, [or Macs(ar)ray], (fn. 2) a canon of the said monastery of St. Mary, and is a dilapidator, perjurer and simoniac, and is greatly defamed in those parts of these and divers other crimes [not here expressed]) if and after Donatus (who was lately dispensed by papal authority, on account of illegitimacy as the son of an unmarried clerk and an unmarried woman, related in the third and fourth degrees of affinity, to be promoted to all even holy orders and hold a benefice even with cure) accuses William before the above two, to summon William and others concerned, and if they find the above to be true, to deprive and remove William, and in that event to make provision to Donatus of the said monastery of St. Mary, value not exceeding 30 marks sterling, whether it be void by such deprivation, or by the death of Donatus Yagra, or by the resignation of [the aforesaid? ] Cornelius Macsarry, [now] a canon of the said order, or in any other way. In the event of their making such provision they are to cause Donatus to be blessed by any catholic bishop; without prejudice to the bishop of Achonry, to whom the monastery of St. Mary's is by ordinary right subject. He is hereby dispensed to be appointed to the monastery, and to rule it in spirituals and temporals, notwithstanding the said defect etc. Ex suscepte servitutis. (P. and G.   • 1. On the back of the volume is the usual modern description in Latin: ‘1461. An. iii. Pius ii.’ and a modern flyleaf has Mgr. Wenzel's ‘An. 3.to. 12.’ There is no contemporary flyleaf, but the usual contemporary description occurs on the bottom edge of the volume, viz. ‘Primus de prebendis et beneficiis vacantibus [et de] regularibus anno iii0 . domini nostri domini Pii pape ii.’ There are [i.]–ccc[x]xii. (wrongly numbered cccxii.) of text, about the first twenty of which are more or less injured by damp, most of the page corners having disappeared. On the back of f. cccxxiii. (wrongly numbered cccxiii.), which is otherwise blank, is the contemporary note: ’Rubricatus [est] per me Ra. Augustini die xxviiii0 . Julii 14620 , deo gratias.’
