Mandate (the pope having been informed by Denis Omygir, priest, of the diocese of Killaloe (Laonien.), that John Odulenna, perpetual vicar of Kyilmale in the said diocese, an open and notorious fornicator, has dilapidated etc. the goods of the said vicarage and committed perjury) if and after Denis (who was lately dispensed by papal authority, on account of illegitimacy as the son of a priest and an unmarried woman, to be promoted to all, even holy orders and hold a benefice even with cure, and who from fear of John's power cannot safely meet him in the city and diocese of Killaloe) accuses John before the above abbot, to summon John, and if he find the aforesaid to be true, or something thereof which together with the said dilapidation shall suffice, to deprive and remove him, and in that event to collate and assign the said vicarage, value not exceeding 4 marks sterling, to Denis; whether it become void by such deprivation, or be void by the death of Gyllibertus Ym[i]gre, or by the resignation of the said John, or in any other way. To the abbot of Holy Trinity, Ballintober (de Fonte Sancti Patricii), in the diocese of Tuam. Mandate (the pope having been informed by Dermit Odwffay, a canon of the Augustinian monastery of Clantwasgerait (fn. 10) Omany in the diocese of Clonfert, that Walter abbot of St. Mary's, Cong, of the same order, in the diocese of Tuam, has dilapidated etc. the goods thereof, has incurred simony by receiving money for the reception of canons therein, has been excommunicated therefor, and is involved in and defamed of divers other crimes) if and after Dermit (who is a priest, has made his open profession of the said order, and is illegitimate, being the son of an abbot professed of the said order and an unmarried woman related in the fourth and fourth degrees of kindred) accuses Walter before the above abbot, to summon Walter, and if he find the above or one of them enough for the purpose to be true, to deprive Walter, and in that event to make provision of the said monastery, value not exceeding 50 marks sterling, to Dermit; whether it become void by such deprivation, or be void by the death of Dermit Ygwy, or be void in any other way. The pope hereby dispenses him to receive it and exercise the administration, notwithstanding the said defect etc. The above abbot is further to grant that he may be blessed by any catholic bishop, who after blessing him shall receive from him the usual oath of fealty, according to the from enclosed, and send it by his letters patent sealed with his seal as soon as possible to the pope (fn. 11); without prejudice to the archbishop of Tuam, to whom the said monastery is by ordinary right subject. Renewal and confirmation, (fn. 12) with exemplification, at the petition of the abbot and convent of the Premonstratensian monastery of Torre in the diocese of Exeter, of the letters Exigit vestre devotionis sinceritas of Boniface IX, dated at St. Peter's, Rome, on 8 Kal. Feb. anno 1 [1390], which are beginning to be consumed with age and which the pope has caused to be inspected and examined in his chancery, granting to them that on the resignation or death of the perpetual vicars of the churches of Bradeworth, Bablond, Schefebere, Tounstalle, Hanob and Sckytebrob (rectius Sckytebrok) in the dioceses of Exeter and Lincoln, which they have long held to their own uses, they may cause each of those churches to be served by one of their own canons, a priest, whom they shall present to the ordinary, such canon to be answerable to the ordinary in respect of spirituals and to the abbot and convent in respect of temporals and the observance of the order; provided that to such priest enough be left of the profits of each church to answer the diocesans and bear all the burdens of each church.
