To John Haukini. a canon of the Augustinian monastery or priory called St. Mary and All Saints, Trenthan (sic) [in the diocese of] Coventry. Dispensation to hold for life any benefice with cure wont to be held by secular clerks, even if a parish church, etc., and to resign it, simply or for exchange, as often as he pleases. Religionis etc. (Pe. de Noxeto. | xxxv. S. de Monte. A. de Racaneto.) [In the margin. Jul(ii).]

  • 1. On the back of the volume is the usual red label, with ‘Nicol. V. de Curia. Lib. xxi. To. xxxxii.’ Inside is the front half of the original sheepskin binding, with the year ‘mccccliii,’ ‘xxii’ (apparently corrected to ’xxi’), ‘Inceptus de mense Junii,’ and other more or less contemporary notes. On the flyleaf is, in the hand of Bissaiga, ‘Nicolai V. de Curia. Lib. xxi. Tom. xxxxii.’ The rubricelle follow, headed ‘Incipiunt Rubricelle vicesimi primi libri de Curia sanctissimi in Christo patris et domini nostri domini Nicolai divina providentia pape quinti incepte de mense Junii mccccliii,' after which comes the text, ff. 1-288.
