Pile's and Pitt's Bill.

Hodie 1a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act to enable Thomas Pile Esquire and Elizabeth Freke to make Leases for Lives, of the Estate of Thomas Freke, of Iwerne Courtney, Esquire, deceased; as also the Son of George Pitt Esquire so to do, when entitled, and in actual Possession of the Premises; and that he may be enabled to make a Jointure, upon any Woman he shall marry, out of the same; and for establishing a School in Iwerne Courtney, and augmenting the Vicarage of Cern Abbas, in the County of Dorsett."

Godolphin versus Tudor, in Error.

This Day the Lord Chief Justice of Her Majesty's Court of Queen's Bench, in the usual Manner, brought up a Writ of Error, wherein Charles Godolphin Esquire and Elizabeth his Wife are Plaintiffs, and Thomas Tuder is Defendant.

Dr. Watson's Writ of Error, Judges and Attorney General to attend.

The House being informed, "That Doctor Watson, late Bishop of St. David's, hath a Writ of Error allowed in the Exchequer, returnable into this House; but doth delay bringing up the same, whereby all Proceedings on the Judgement are stayed:"

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That all the Judges, and Her Majesty's Attorney General, do attend this House To-morrow, at Eleven a Clock.

Message from H. C. to return Bp. of Derry & al. Bill.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Sir Gilbert Dolben and others:

To return the Bill, intituled, "An Act for settling the Right of several Parcels of Land and other Tenements, and of certain Fishings and Tithes of Fishings, in the Society of the Governor and Assistants, London, of the new Plantation in Ulster, within the Realm of Ireland, and their Successors; and for settling a Rent Charge of Two Hundred and Fifty Pounds per Annum upon the Lord Bishop of Derry, and his Successors for ever;" and to acquaint this House, that they have agreed to the same, without any Amendment.

Message from thence, with a Bill.

A Message from the House of Commons, by Sir Francis Masham and others:

Who brought up a Bill, intituled, "An Act to enable James Lockhart Esquire and his Wife to sell certain Lands, Tenements, and Hereditaments, in the County of Essex, late of Sir Thomas Luckin Baronet, deceased, for Payment of their Debts; and to purchase other Lands with the Overplus of the Money, to be settled to the like Uses;" to which they desire the Concurrence of this House.

Land Tax Bill.

Then the House was adjourned during Pleasure; and put into a Committee upon the Bill, intituled, "An Act for granting an Aid to Her Majesty, by a Land Tax, to be raised in the Year One Thousand Seven Hundred and Five."

After some Time, the House was resumed.

And the Lord Lawarr reported, "That the Committee had gone through the said Bill; and think it fit to pass, without any Amendment."

Coke, Leave for a Bill.

Upon reading the Petition of Thomas Coke, of Melborne, in the County of Derby, Esquire; praying Leave to bring in a Bill, for the Confirmation of an Agreement made between him and the Lord Bishop of Carlisle, concerning the Rectory of Melborne and Vicar there for the Time being:

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Petitioner hath Leave to bring in a Bill, as desired.
