A dispensation had been granted to them on its coming to the knowledge of Hugh that a woman with whom he had had connexion before marriage was related to Margaret in the fourth degree; but it has since come to light that Margaret and this woman were related in the third and fourth degrees. 6 Kal. Dec. Avignon. (f. 102d.)	To James, bishop of St. Andrews and his successors. Appropriation of the parish church of Monimele, value 40 marks, situate in the territory of that name. His predecessor William had thereon built a manor, which is insufficiently supported by the rents of the said territory. The manors belonging to the see have during its voidance been injured by laymen, and the farmers are impoverished. A perpetual vicar is to be appointed to Monimele.
8 Kal. Dec. Avignon. (f. 102d.)	To Bertrand Cariti, archdeacon of Lavaur and Raymund de Quercu, canon of Langres, papal nuncios in Scotland. Commission and mandate to ascertain the facts touching letters of king Robert and the bishop and chapter of St. Andrews, by which the king gave his right of patronage and advowson of Fordoun in Le Merai (Mearns) to the prior and canons of St. Andrews. These letters, on account of the distance, cannot be sent to the pope, but if they are in order they are, at king David's request, to be confirmed.

Peter was formerly rector of Fletemershton, in the diocese of Lincoln, value 10 marks, but being continuously engaged in the king's service he could not be ordained, and so resigned the benefice, having received from it only 100s.

1330. Id. May. Avignon. (f. 327.)	To Itherius de Concoreto, canon of Salisbury, papal nuncio. Commission and mandate to ascertain the value of the yearly fruits, rents, and profits of the archbishop of Cashel, and to send a report under seal to the pope. Walter, who has been translated from Cork to Cashel, states that his predecessor Stephen promised to pay a subvention of 728 marks to the papalcamera and college of cardinals, although the income of the see hardly reached 350 marks. Four successive archbishops have been unable to pay the sum promised, the balance of which now amounts to 11,200 florins, while the income of the see has come down to 250 marks. The pope is therefore prayed to give relief.
5 Kal. Mar. Avignon. (f. 228.)	To Alan de Conesburg, D.C.L. Provision, at the request of William archbishop of York, of a canonry of York, with reservation of a prebend; notwithstanding that he is rector of a moiety of Roderham and has a canonry of Wells and the prebend of Yatton, of none of which is he able to obtain possession, and is rector of Hilkelton, value 12 marks, and has canonries and prebends of Ripon, value 100s. and St. Mary's, Stafford, value 12 marks, there being an appeal to the pope lodged against him touching the prebend of Ripon.
