MEMORANDUM, quod hodierno die, videlicet, vicesimo primo die Junii, Anno Regni Serenissimi Domini nostri Caroli Secundi, Dei Gratiâ, Angliæ, Scotiæ, Franciæ, et Hib. Regis, Fidei Defensoris, &c. Septimo Decimo, in quem diem prorogat. fuerat hoc præsens Parliamentum, convenere Domini tam Spirituales quam Temporales quorum nomina subscribuntur:

PRAYERS.

The Lord Chamberlain acquainted the House, "That the King hath been pleased to confer the Honour of Peerage upon Sir Henry Bennett Knight, now Lord Arlington; and John Freescheville Esquire, now Lord Freeschcville of Staveley; and that they are ready without, and desire to be introduced."

Hereupon the House appointed the Lord Chamberlain of His Majesty's Household (in the Absence of the Lord Great Chamberlain of England) to introduce them.

Ld. Arlington introduced.

Then the Lord Arlington, being conducted by the Lord Chamberlain and Garter King at Arms, after several Obeisances made, was presented, between the Lord Chandos and the Lord Crofts, to the Lord Chancellor; and his Lordship's Patent and Writ being laid upon the Woolsack, the Lord Chancellor delivered them to the Clerk of the Parliaments, who read the said Writ, and Date of the Patent of Creation. And afterwards his Lordship was placed at the lower End of the Barons Bench; and then was placed in the Place appointed by the Act of Parliament, as Chief Secretary of State.

Ld. Freescheville introduced.

In the like Manner John Lord Freescheville was introducted, between the Lord Berkley of Berkley and the Lord Hunsdon, and placed on the Barons Bench, next the Lord Arlington, at the lower End of the Barons Bench.

Message to H. C. to come and hear the Commission read.

Then the House commanded the Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod to give the House of Commons Notice, "That they come up, with their Speaker, to hear the Prorogation of this Parliament, by virtue of His Majesty's Commission under the Great Seal of England."

The House was adjourned during Pleasure; and the Peers went and robed themselves.

The House was resumed.

The Commons being come, with their Speaker; the Lord Chancellor delivered His Majesty's Commission to the Clerk of the Parliaments, who read the same publicly; the Tenor of which Commission followeth:
