The Lord Chief Justice of the Common Pleas sat Speaker this Day.

Sir Jac. Astley's Bill.

The Lord Viscount de Stafford reported from the Committee, the Bill for settling the Estate of Sir Jacob Astley, wherein their Lordships have made some Alterations, and have thought fit to add a Proviso, which is left to the Consideration of the House.

The said Alterations and Proviso, being read Twice, were Agreed to.

Hodie 3a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act for settling several Manors, Lands, and Tenements, of Sir Jacob Astley, lying in the Counties of Norfolke, and Warwick."

The Question being put, "Whether this Bill, with the Alterations and Proviso now read, shall pass?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Ld. Delawar's Privilege, Williams, his Servant, arrested;

Upon Oath made at this Bar, "That Thomas Williams, Servant to the Lord Delawar, a Peer of this Realm, and Lord of Parliament, is arrested, and detained a Prisoner in The Poultrey Compter, contrary to the Privilege of Parliament:"

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Thomas Williams be forthwith released of his present Restraint: And this to be a sufficient Warrant in that Behalf.

Waterman, Sheriff of Lond. and Linton, to attend.

ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That George Waterman Esquire, One of the High Sheriffs of London, be, and is hereby, summoned to attend this House on Saturday Morning next at Ten of the Clock; and that Linton Bailiff, who arrested Thomas Williams, Servant unto the Lord Delawarr, do also attend this House at the same Time.

Message to H. C. with Sir Jac. Astley's Bill.

A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Sir Justinian Lewyn and Sir Nathaniell Hobart:

To return the Bill concerning the settling of Sir Jacob Astley's Estate, wherein their Lordships have made some Alterations, and added a Proviso, and desire their Concurrence to the same.

ORDERED, That these Lords following are added to the Committee for perusing the Two Acts for the Poor and the Highways:

L. Cornwallis.
