The Lord Chief Justice of the Common Pleas sat Speaker this Day.
Answer from the City, to the Thanks of this House.
The Lord Chamberlain reported, "That himself and those Lords appointed with the Committee of the House of Commons were Yesterday with the Common Council of London, to give them the Thanks of both Houses; and the Lord Mayor, in the Name of the Common Council, returns this House great Thanks for the same."
L. Langdale, Privilege.
Complaint was made, on the Behalf of the Lord Langdale, "That there was an Exigent and Capias issued out against him, contrary to the Privilege of Parliament."
It is thereupon ORDERED, That the Party that is to prove the Matter of Fact do attend this House, the next Day of Sitting.
Bishop of Exon, Privilege:
Upon Complaint made by the Lord Bishop of Exon, "That one Yard, an Attorney at Law, prosecutes a Suit at Law against him, during the Sitting of Parliament, contrary to the Privilege of Parliament."
Yard to attend for prosecuting a Suit against him.
It is ORDERED, That the said Yarde be summoned to appear before this House on Monday Morning, to answer the said Offence.
Adjourn.
