This Day Counsel and Witnesses were heard, on both Sides, at this Bar, upon the Matter contained in the Bill for confirming the Sale of some Lands in Shropshire, sold by Sir Rob't Howard deceased, for Payment of his Debts.

And, after Consideration thereof,

Message from H. C. with a Bill.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Sir Thomas Meares and others; who brought up a Bill, intituled, "An additional Act for the better ordering and collecting the Duty of Excise, and preventing the Abuses therein;" whereunto their Lordships Concurrence is desired.

ORDERED, That the Bill for Subsidies and the Bill concerning the Excise shall be read this Afternoon.

Wildmore Fen.

After hearing of Counsel this Day at the Bar, as well on Behalf of the King's Majesty and His Tenants, as also of the Freeholders and Owners of Land within the Soke of Horn Castle, within the County of Lyncolne, and Commoners in Wildemoore Fenn, concerning their several Rights to the Improvement and Privilege of Common in the said Fen; and after due Consideration had thereof:

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Order of this House, made the Third Day of June last, concerning the quieting of the Possession of His Majesty and His Tenants in the said Fen, be, and is hereby, confirmed according to the Tenor thereof.

And it is further ORDERED, That His Majesty's Counsel Learned in the Law be, and are hereby, required to proceed speedily and effectually to the determining, by due Course of Law, the Right of Title claimed by the King's Majesty and His Tenants in the said Wildemoore Fenn; and that all such Persons as are or find themselves aggrieved by reason of His Majesty's said Claim and Title may have Recourse to any of His Majesty's Courts at Westm. for Trial of their Title to the same.

Temporalty Subsidy Bill.

The Lord Berkley of Berkley reported, "That the Committee for the Bill of Subsidies have considered of the said Bill, and think it not fit to make any Alterations therein; only have added the Names of Lords to be Commissioners for assessing the Peers."

Which Addition, being read Twice, was Agreed to.

Hodie 3a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act for granting Four entire Subsidies to His Majesty, from the Temporalty."

The Question being put, "Whether this Bill, with the Addition now read, shall pass?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Committees adjourned.

ORDERED, That those Committees as were appointed to meet this Day, but could not in regard of the Sitting of this House this Afternoon, shall meet on Wednesday next in the Afternoon.

Bill against Gaming.

The Lord Berkley of Berkley reported from the Committee, the Bill against unlawful Gaming, with some Alterations and Amendments, and a Proviso; which were read Twice.

And the Question being put, "Whether this Proviso shall be rejected?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

ORDERED, That this Bill, with the Alterations and Amendments, shall be engrossed.

Bill to take away Damage Clear.

Hodie 1a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act for taking away Damage Clear."
