The said abbot. On behalf of William Spersholt, monk of Winchester, who was with him at the Roman court, and has been elected by the chapter to pursue the study of scholastic theology at an university, with a yearly pension, for faculty to do so for seven years.

For the church of Neucherch, in the diocese of Canterbury, about to be void by reason that the cardinal of Perigueux has obtained a church in the diocese of Lavaur, notwithstanding that John has canonries and prebends of Salisbury, Hereford, and Wilton, value together 32l.

Master Ralph atte Gredik of Malverthorp. For the church of St. Crux, York, value 10 marks, void by the death of Alan de Setrington at the Roman court, notwithstanding that he has been put in place of Robert Abot of Wodweston, in his right to the church of Fenny Drayton, touching which a suit is pending in the Roman court against John Elys of Hilton. Granted. Avignon, 8 Id. Aug.
Cancelled, the petition being torn across by the pope, as the church was given to another.

Richard Talbot, lord of Godric Castle. Whereas, on founding a priory of Canons Regular at Flanesford, in the diocese of Hereford, he prayed the pope to appropriate to it the church of Westbury by Gloucester on Severn, which was done, and whereas some assert that the appropriation is invalid, because when it was made the prior and convent were not actually in the said monastery, he prays for confirmation of the same. Let the said defect be supplied. Avignon, 8 Id. Aug.

Richard Vachan, D.C.L. canon of London. For the archdeaconry of Surrey, void by the death of William Inge at the apostolic see, notwithstanding that he has the church of Saltwode, in the diocese of Canterbury, and canonries and prebends of London and Aberwily, and expects a canonry and prebend of St. Davids.
