He prays the pope, therefore, to confer the church on him anew, and to issue a commission touching fruits received, and to dispense him.

Whereas his father Henry founded a hospital in Leicester, near his castle, and endowed it, which foundation was confirmed by John XXII. and the present duke desires to erect therein a college with a dean, canons, prebendaries, and other ministers; he prays for a licence to the archbishop of Canterbury, the bishop of Lincoln, and the archdeacon of Richmond to erect and change the hospital into a collegiate church, making such order as shall seem good to the duke.
Let it be done by the archbishop or diocesan, but so that the endowment be first made by the duke in the said place in presence of the commissaries, and provided that the conditions and methods of endowment are lawful, and that poor are received and treated therein as was ordered by the dukes father; all church rights being preserved.
