119. Treasury endorsement of a Lord Chamberlain's warrant to the Duke of Montagu for the delivery to Samuel Cust, Clerk of the Cheque, of badges on the mourning liveries of the Yeomen of the Guard and Warders of the Tower and other items as follows: —140 badges to be put on tneir laced liveries, 140 bonnet bands of crimson, sky colour, and blue ribbon, 140 pairs of stockings and a like number of buff gloves, and silk fringes to go round their partizans: all at an estimate of 955l.

120. Treasury warrant to the Surveyor General of Crown Lands for a particular of three old houses in Downing Street, of which the Rt. Honble. Horatio Walpole prays a reversionary lease to enable him to make some additional conveniences to his house near the Cockpit in Whitehall.
Prefixing:—Said surveyor's report to the Treasury, dated 1738, September 4, on said Walpole's petition for the above. The premises are part of what formerly was called Hampden House, which was granted by Charles II. 23 February 1663 to Sir George Downing for a term of 99 years from the date concurrent with a term of 60 years, formerly granted at 5l. per an. Premises are vested in Charles Downing, Esq., for remainder of said term, which will expire 1762–3, February 23. Said houses are at present in the several occupations of Gerrard Foyle, John Brooks, and widow Pepper, and being old buildings and the ground narrow may be valued at 33l. per an. The house in possession of widow Pepper includes the buildings over the Gateway, which is a common passage from Downing Street to the stable yard of the Rt. Honbl. Sir Robert Walpole.

121. Present: Mr. Chancellor of the Exchequer, Lord Sundon, Mr. Winnington.
Order for a warrant, on the Act passed the last Session of Parliament, for taking in 100,000l. for the purchase of annuities at three per cent., in part of 500,000l. to be raised by the sale of such annuities or by Exchequer bills, both chargeable on the Sinking Fund.
Same for the issue to the Treasurer of the Navy, out of funds anno 1738, of 26,680l. 15s. 4d. for purposes as in his memorial of the 24th instant.
Mr. Jenison's memorial about building a room at Swinley Lodge, Windsor Forest, for the convenience of the royal family when hunting there, referred to the Surveyor General of Woods.
The Taxes Commissioners to attend on Tuesday next concerning Mr. Lane, Receiver General for Worcestershire, who is the only Receiver under respite, “my Lords, on reading a letter from Comrs. Taxes, dated 19 instant, having taken oft' all respits on other the Receivers except the said Mr. Lane.”
Sir Thomas Robinson's petition for leave to erect rails before his house in St. James's Park to range with the rails erected before the house belonging to the Paymaster of the Jborces, to which Sir Thomas's house is next adjoining, read and agreed to.
The memorial now read in the name of Giles Brown, importing discoveries of great sums of money unpaid to the Crown for Forfeited Estates sold in Ireland, referred to the Revenue Commissioners there to make proper examinations and enquiries and for report thereupon.
Order for the issue to the Paymaster of the Forces, out of funds anno 1738, of 126,991l. 17s. 2½d for purposes as in his memorial of the 26th instant.
David Stow is to succeed his father as a riding officer within Berwick district.
Order for a sign manual for the usual bounty of 400l. to Charles Hatton.
A memorial read in the name of Antonio Ruby of the Island of Minorca for his charges in coming over and attending here on affairs very much importing His Majesty's service and the good of the revenues there. Agreed to pay him 200l. out of the revenues of Minorca by the hands of Mr. Finch, Receiver thereof.

Scrope to Mr. Paxton, forwarding the petition of William Howard for a messuage near against Exeter Exchange in the Strand, late in the possession of Mrs. Greenwood, and the petition of Dr. James Anderson for an order to take possession of a forehouse and backhouse near the Great Gate of the Savoy, lately inhabited by Mary Hill: for said Paxton to put petitioners in possession accordingly, the Treasury having consented thereto.
