Message from H. C. for a Conference.
A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Sir Thomas Meares Knight:
To desire a present Free Conference, in the Painted Chamber, upon the Matter of the late Free Conference.
The Answer returned was:

That the Lords will take Consideration of their Message, and send an Answer by Messengers of their own.
Breach of Privilege in H. C. in naming the Time and Place for the Conference.
The Lords conceived, that the House of Commons by this Message, demanding a present Free Conference, and appointing the Place likewise to be in the Painted Chamber, is a Breach of the Privileges of this House; it appertaining of Right to the Lords, to appoint both the Time and the Place: Therefore it is ORDERED, To send to the House of Commons, to desire a present Conference, touching the Matter of the last Message from them; and the Lord Chancellor to assert the Right and Privilege of this House in this Particular, and to desire that Messages of this Nature may be prevented for the future. And, for the Saving of Time at this Conference, to give the House of Commons a Free Conference upon the Subject Matter of the late Free Conference.
Message to them, for a Conference about it.
A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Dr. Childe and Dr. Lewin:
To desire a present Conference, in the Painted Chamber, touching the Matter of the last Message; and then, at the same Time, their Lordships will give a Free Conference upon the Subject Matter of the last Free Conference.
The Messengers return with this Answer:

That the House of Commons will give a present Conference, as is desired.
Office of L. Great Chamberlain.
This House resumed the former Debate concerning the Office of the Lord Great Chamberlain of England, in Question between the Earl of Oxon and the Earl of Lyndsey. And the Matter of this Day's Debate being, "Whether this House is rightly possessed of this Business, so as to proceed in hearing the Cause?"
After some Time spent in the Debate, the House put off the further Debate until another Time.

ORDERED, That the Lord Poulett hath Leave to be absent, and go into the Country.
ORDERED, That the Earl of Bristoll, Earl of Portland, and the Lord Viscount Campden, be added to the Committee for the Bill concerning Lyndsey Levell.
ORDERED, That the Marquis of Winton be added to the Committee concerning the Earl of Derbye's Bill.

Hodie 1a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act to enable John Lord Abergaveny, Son and Heir of Henry Lord Abergaveny, to sell Lands, for Payment of his Debts, and Preferment of his Brother and Sisters."
The House was adjourned during Pleasure, and the Lords went to the Conference; which being ended, the House was resumed.
ORDERED, That the Report of this Conference be made on Monday Morning next.

ORDERED, by the Lords assembled in Parliament, That the Serjeant at Arms attending this House, or his Deputy, shall attach the Bodies of Elizabeth Elmes, Richard Page Serjeant, and Ferdinando Pennyworth, for arresting, and causing to be arrested, Lewis Butts, a menial Servant of the Lord Abergaveny, a Member of this House, and Peer of the Realm, contrary to the Privilege of Parliament; and forthwith bring them before their Lordships, to answer the said Contempt: And this to be a sufficient Warrant in that Behalf.
