Hodie 1a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act for settling the Manors of Knole, Seale, and Kempsing, upon the Earl of Dorsett and his Heirs, and charging the Manor of Bexhill, and Manor or Farm of Cowding, and other Lands in the County of Sussex, with a Rent of One Hundred and Thirty Pounds per Annum, in Lieu thereof."
M. of Winton's Bill rejected.
Hodie 1a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act towards the Reparations and Satisfaction to be made unto John Marquis of Winton, out of the Manors and Lands of Robert Wallop Esquire, for the Sum of Ten Thousand Pounds, and Damages for the same, given unto him by the late pretended Parliament, out of the Estate of the said Marquis of Winton."
The Question being put, "Whether this Bill shall be rejected?"
It was Resolved in the Affirmative.
Report about the Address to the King being printed. Hogkinson, a Printer, sent for.
The Lord Robertes reported from the Committee for Privileges, "That their Lordships Yesterday were entering into Consideration of the Order referred unto them, brought from the House of Commons by Sir Wm. Doyley, concerning the Printing of the Vote of the Houses presented to the King; and a Lord brought to them the said Address, printed by one Hogkinson a Printer. The Opinion of the Committee is, That the said Printer should be summoned to appear before this House, to shew by what Warrant he printed the same."
Which this House ordered accordingly.
Serjeants at Arms to attend this House, to clear the Passage to it.
Upon Report from the Committee for Privileges, "That divers Lords have found great Inconveniences in their Passage to and from Parliament, by reason of such Companies of People that stand in the Way:"
It is ORDERED, by the Lords in Parliament assembled, That the Lord Chamberlain is appointed to desire His Majesty, from this House, that Two Serjeants at Arms, with their Maces, according to the ancient Custom, may attend the Doors of this House, near the Stairs Head, from Eight of the Clock in the Morning, till the Lords have taken their Coaches to go Home, for the more decent and orderly Passage of the Lords to and from Parliament.
Order concerning the Painted Chamber.
Upon Report from the Committee for Privileges:
It is ORDERED, by the Lords in Parliament assembled, That the Painted Chamber be kept for the Gentlemen Attendants on the Peers of Parliament, who are to be uncovered when any Peer is there; and that no Footmen or Lackies be admitted in there; and that any Gentleman that hath Occasion to speak with any Peer be admitted into the Painted Chamber, and no further.
Yeoman Usher and Doorkeepers, not to stay in the House.
Upon Report from the Committee for Privileges:
It is ORDERED, by the Lords in Parliament assembled, That neither the Yeoman Usher, nor any of the Doorkeepers (except the Gentleman of the Black Rod), do, at any Time during the Sitting of the Lords in Parliament, or at any Committee of Parliament, stay within the Doors of the House, or Committee Chamber; but the Yeoman Usher may have Liberty to come within the House, to give the Gentleman Usher Notice when any Message comes from the House of Commons, and immediately to go forth again.
E. of Oxford, Privilege.
Upon the Oath of John Quinn Esquire, made this Day at the Bar, "That the Coach of the Earl of Oxford, a Member of this House, and Peer of the Realm, was attached, about the 29th Day of April last, being within Ten Days of this Parliament, by Richard Saer a Coachman; and that one Richard Aiskew, a Bailiff, executed the same:"

It is ORDERED, by the Lords in Parliament assembled, That the Serjeant at Arms attending this House, or his Deputy, shall attach the Bodies of the said Richard Saer and Richard Aiskew, and forthwith bring them before the Lords in Parliament, to answer their said high Contempt; and this to be a sufficient Warrant in that Behalf.
