E. of Dorset's Bill.
The Earl of Bridgwater reported from the Committee, the Bill for settling the Manors of Knole, Seale, and Kempsing, upon the Earl of Dorsett, and granting a Rent Charge of the Manor of Bexhill and Cowding, &c. in the County of Sussex, on the Poor of several Parishes: "And the Committees are satisfied that it is for the Advantage of the Poor, and with the Consent of the major Part of the Trustees, and think it fit to pass, with some Alterations and Amendments;" which, being Twice read, were Agreed to; and the Bill is ordered to be ingrossed.
Bill for draining Fens in Lincoln.
The Earl of Dorsett reported from the Committee, the Bill concerning Lyndsey Levell as fit to pass, with some Alterations and Amendments; which were read Twice, and Agreed to, and ordered to be ingrossed.
Bill to prevent planting Tobacco in Engl.
The Marquis of Worcester reported from the Committee, the Bill prohibiting planting of Tobacco in England, as fit to pass, with some small Alterations; which, being read Twice, were Agreed to, and ordered to be ingrossed.
Message from H. C. with Bills.
A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Mr. Bamfeild, &c.; who brought up divers Bills, wherein they desire their Lordships Concurrence:
1. A Bill to prevent the Prophanation of the Lord'sday.
2. A Bill against prophane Swearing.
3. A Bill for enabling of John Newton and Wm. Oakeley to make Sale of Lands, for Payment of Debts.
Bill for due Observation of the Sabbath.
