The King's Answer concerning the Earl of Arundel's Bill.
The Lord Chancellor reported to the House, "That he and the rest of the Lords waited upon His Majesty, to know His Pleasure concerning the passing of the Bill for restoring the Earl of Arrundell to the Dukedom of Norff.; and His Majesty said, That to those that had asked His Leave to present the same to this House, He had given His Consent therein."

ORDERED, That the Lord Lexington's Bill be sent to the House of Commons by the next Message.
E. of Arundel's Bill.
Hodie 3a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act for restoring of Thomas Earl of Arrundell, Surrey, and Norff. to the Dignity and Title of Duke of Norff."
The Question being put, "Whether this Bill should pass as a Law?"
It was Resolved in the Affirmative.
Bill for the Arrears of Assessments.
Hodie 1a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act for the levying of the Arrears of the Twelve Months Assessment, commencing the 24th of June 1659, and the Six Months Assessment commencing the 25th of December 1659."
Astley's Naturalization Bill.
Hodie 3a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act for naturalizing Francis Astley, Son of the Lord Astley, born in Holland."
The Question being put, "Whether this Bill shall pass as a Law?"
It was Resolved in the Affirmative.
Bill concerning Deeds, &c. of Impropriations.
Hodie 1a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act for vacating all such Deeds and Evidences as were passed by any Person whatsoever, of any Impropriations or Portions of Tithes for their Compositions, for adhering to His late Majesty."
Rejected.
And the Question being put, "Whether this Bill shall be cast out?"
It was Resolved in the Affirmative.
Answer from H. C.
The Messengers sent Yesterday to the House of Commons, to desire a Conference this Day about the King's Message, return with this Answer:
That they will give a Conference, as is desired.
The House was adjourned during Pleasure, and the Lords went to the Conference; which being ended, the House was resumed.
Protest against rejecting the Bill concerning Deeds, &c. of Impropriations.
Memorandum, That, before the putting the Question of the casting out the Bill for vacating all such Deeds and Evidences as were passed, by any Person whatsoever, of any Impropriations or Portions for Tithes, for their Compositions for adhering to His late Majesty, these Lords following desired their Right of entering their Protestations, if the Question was carried in the Affirmative: Which the House gave Leave to do; and accordingly they did enter their Dissents, by subscribing their Names.

A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Mr. Hobart and Dr. Chylde:
To deliver them Two Bills, one concerning the Lord Lexington, the other concerning the Lord Arrundell of Warder, and desire their Concurrence therein.

ORDERED, That the Cause between Cary and Crumwell shall be heard on Monday Morning next, by Counsel, at this Bar.
