The Lord Finch reported the Earl of Winchilsea's Bill, as fit to be (fn. 1) passed, with a few Amendments; which, being read Twice, were approved of, and the Bill is ORDERED to be ingrossed.

Message from H. C. with a Bill.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Mr. Bacon; who brought up a Bill to enable Augustine Skynner and Wm. Skynner to sell Lands, wherein they desire their Lordships Concurrence.

E. of Derby's Bill, to preserve Right of Lands, sold by his Father.

Hodie 1^a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act for the preserving of the Earl of Derbye's Right of Action and Entry unto the Manors, Lands, and Hereditaments, heretofore sold by William Earl of Derby."

Message to H. C. for a Conference concerning the Bill of Indemnity.

A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Mr. Escott and Mr. Hobart:

To desire a present Free Conference, in the Painted Chamber, touching the Matter of the late Conference touching the Bill of Indemnity.

Heads for it.

The Lord Chancellor gave the House an Account of what Particulars the Lords Committees have thought to deliver at the Free Conference with the House of Commons, according to the Sense of the House Yesterday upon Debate of the Business; which the House allowed of.

E. of Sterling et al. versus Levinston.

ORDERED, That the Cause between Earl of Sterlinge and Mr. Levinston shall be further heard on Tuesday Morning next, by Counsel and Witnesses on both Sides.

Ld. Mohun versus Keigwin and Dandy.

ORDERED, That this House will consider what Damages to give the Lord Mohun, against Kegkwyn and Dandy, on Friday Morning next.

E. of Bristoll's Bill.

Hodie 3^a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act toward the Reparation and Satisfaction to be made unto George Earl of Bristoll, out of the Manors and Lands of Carew Rawleigh, &c."

And the Question being put, "Whether this Bill shall pass as a Law?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Answer from H. C.

The Messengers return with this Answer:

That the House of Commons will give a present Free Conference, as is desired.

Sir J. Stowell's Petition.

Upon reading the Petition of Sir John Stowell Knight:

It is ORDERED, That the Committee for Petitions do sit To-morrow in the Afternoon, concerning this Business only.

Order to search at Mr. Scobell's, for Papers belonging to this House.

ORDERED, That the Clerk of the Parliament hath hereby Power to search amongst Mr. Scobell's Papers, in the Presence of the Executors; and to seize such Papers and Records as are properly belonging to the House of Peers.

Griffith released.

ORDERED, That John Griffith be released from his present Restraint he lieth under.

M. of Newcastle's Bill.

Hodie 3^a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act for restoring to Wm. (fn. 2) Earl of Newcastle all his Honours, Manors, Lands, &c."

And the Question being put, "Whether this Bill shall pass as a Law ?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

The House was adjourned during Pleasure; and the Lords went into the Painted Chamber, to the Free Conference; which being done, the House was resumed.

Order to release Griffith.

Upon the humble Petition of Captain John Griffith, read this Day in the House, being imprisoned upon Suspicion of his acting in the late Earl of Derbie's Death:

It is ORDERED, by the Lords in Parliament assembled, That the said John Griffith shall be released and set at Liberty from his present Restraint and Imprisonment, paying his Fees; and this to be a sufficient Warrant.

Order for hearing Sir John Stowell's Petition.

ORDERED, by the Lords in Parliament assembled, upon the Petition of Sir John Stowell Knight, read this Day in the House, That the Committee for Petitions shall sit To-morrow upon his Cause only; and not upon any other Cause, until the Pleasure of this House be further signified.
