Message from H. C. with the Bill of Indemnity.
A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Justice Twisden and Justice Tyrrell:
To deliver to them the Bill of Indemnity, which their Lordships have passed, with some Alterations and Provisos, wherein their Concurrence is desired.
Bill for Judicial Proceedings.
The Lord Fynch reported from the Committee, the Bill for Judicial Proceedings; which the Committee thinks fit to offer, with some Alterations, Amendments, and Provisos, to the House.
The said Alterations, Amendments, and Provisos, were read, and debated of in the House.
It is Ordered, That this Business be proceeded in on Monday Morning next: In the mean Time, the Committee are to receive no more Provisos; but are to meet this Afternoon, to word a general Proviso according to the Sense of the House.
Lords Leave to be absent.
Ordered, That the Earl of Monmouth hath Leave to go into the Country.
Ordered, That the Earl of Banbury hath Leave to go into the Country.
Ordered, That the Lord Dacres hath Leave to be absent for Four or Five Days.
E. of Bristol's Order.
Ordered, That the Earl of Bristoll shall have the Order of this House, to put him into Possession by the Sheriff, as other Lords (fn. 1) have had in the like Case.
E. of Suffolk's Order.
Ordered, That the Earl of Suffolk shall have an Order to search for Arms which have been taken from him.
Ordered, That the Lord Clifford be added to the Earl of Bristoll's Committee.
Order for him to search for Arms, formerly taken from him.
The House being this Day informed, "That Pistols, Swords, Saddles, Bits, and other like Arms, have been lately taken out of Awdley Ende, the House of the Earl of Suffolke, in the County of Essex, by the Command of one Dudley Temple, contrary to (fn. 2) the Privilege due to the Peers of this Realm, and the known Laws of the Land."
It is Ordered, by the Lords in Parliament assembled, That the said Earl of Suffolke hath hereby Liberty, by his Servants and Agents, to make Search for any of his said Arms, in the Dwelling House or Houses of the said Dudley Temple, and in the House or Houses of Thornebacke, and in other suspicious Places, within the County of Essex, as also in the Houses of Captain Sullers, Greene, and others, where Information shall be given that any of the said Arms shall be concealed; and that where such Arms shall be found, to seize upon them, take and bear them away, to the Use of the said Earl of Suffolke, taking One of His Majesty's lawful Officers with them at the Time of the seizing of the said Arms as aforesaid.
Order for restoring the E. of Bristol to the Possession of his Estates, &c.
Whereas the House hath this Day been moved, "That George Earl of Bristoll may be put into Possession of all the Real Estate of him the said Earl, and of John late Earl of Bristoll deceased, Father of the said now Earl, which Estate was sold and disposed of, given and conveyed away, or left unsold, by the late Trustees for the Sale of Delinquents Estates, or by any other unlawful pretended Authority whatsoever:"
It is Ordered, by the Lords in Parliament assembled, That the several Sheriffs, Bailiffs, and other His Majesty's Officers, in such Counties and Places where the Houses, Lordships, Lands, Tenements, Rectories, Impropriations, and Hereditaments, of the said late and now Earl of Bristoll, are and shall be, forthwith, upon Sight of this Order, put the said now Earl, his Assign and Assigns, into the Possession of the same, according to his and their respective Interests and Rights; any Thing to the contrary notwithstanding.
Adjourn.
